Here’s to being Kreativ

May 14, 2012

The lovely Melissa of A Wide Line recently surprised me with The Kreativ Blogger Award.

So first, a big Thank You to Melissa for thinking of me. As always, I appreciate the vote of confidence and the shout out. It’s a great thing when our fellow bloggers nominate us and let us know we are special to them in a way.

The rules, those pesky rules, are pretty simple for this one…

1. Thank the person who gave the award to you and link back to their blog.

2. Share 7 things about yourself.

3. Nominate 7 bloggers and let them know they’ve been awarded.

Here are 7 more things about me:

1. I love, love, love Vietnamese food, especially a soup called Pho! It’s the best.

2. I had chicken Pho instead of my usual beef today. OMGeee, it was delightful.

3. I don’t like that my hubby keeps the air at 68° at night. I’m sitting here in a thick robe and socks… and I live in Florida for Pete’s sake.

4. Sometimes, when I’m in a chocolaty mood I put Nutella on a teaspoon and eat it like that.

5. I decided to bake Apfelstrudel for middle daughters Family Festival at school. Thank goodness my mom is a champ at making strudel… she’ll give me pointers.

6. The next book I am going to read is in German. One of my best friends send it to me recently. Just because.

7. A few of my school friends from Germany live in the US now, too. It’s a small world.  🙂

Time to nominate 7 fabulous bloggers:

1. Marcie at Too Timid and Squeamish

2. Catrina at Kittyb78

3. Megan at Monday Morning Musings

4. Jackie at Not Wifezilla

5. Stacey at Real World Mom

6. Alexis at The Exhausted Mom

7. Shannon at Moments of Introspection

As always, no pressure, just a head nod from me to you because I like you. 🙂

When I was younger, I wanted to learn German so I could read Nietzsche in his original language. I learned how to count till 12 (and how to say “blood” in German to order a rare steak) but that’s about it. You are so lucky!

Thank you for the award. The best compliments are the ones you receive from your peers 🙂

I never even read Nietzsche. At least I don’t think so. But I can only imagine how hard it would be for a non native speaker. And you are welcome.

I like it cold, too. 68 is probably too warm for me! LOL

Do you find that reading or speaking German is more difficult now that you live in the US? Or is it just as easy to switch one to the other?

    Have a great week.

Reading German doesn’t bother me too much. I do have trouble remembering words sometimes and slip back into English. Writing is a bit of an issue… that’s why I started a German blog to kinda keep it fresh! 🙂

  • Rach (DonutsMama) May 15, 2012 at 4:08 pm

I could eat Nutella straight from the jar. Oh wait, I used to do that in college!

Congrats Susi!! It doesn’t surprise me that you have received another award, you’re a sweet friend/blogger 🙂
I still have yet to post about the lovely award you gave me last week, I haven’t forgotten!
Have a beautiful day and I totally think you and I could sit and eat Nutella off a spoon and chat for hours!!

Oh, my husband and I have the battle of the air conditioner, too. Fortunately lately we’ve been on the same page, but I’m usually in my sweat shirt and pants in the evening. I feel you there!

During the day it’s fine and once I’m under the covers I prefer it a little cooler. We all sleep better. But trying to relax and read at night… I always need fluffy slippers and a sweater.
