Follow Friday Four Fill in Fun #64

May 24, 2012

Another week over! This one was filled to overflowing with fun and precious moments. Monday, I had the pleasure of lunch and fun conversation with the super sweet, knowledgeable and just all around great Nicole of By Word of Mouth Musings. I’m so lucky to have met her.

Tuesday, Middle had a Family Heritage Day at her school and all parents, grand-parents and siblings were invited to enjoy some ethnic foods and to see what the children learned about their heritage throughout the school year. I loved that my girls dressed in traditional German garb. Little One wore the same Dirndl dress that I wore when I was her age. Thanks to my mom who saved it all these years!!!

Wednesday was a big day for the Boy. In the morning the school had a “Anchors Away” program to send the 5th graders off to Middle School. I can’t believe my first born will be in Middle School next school year. Time truly does fly. In the evening, it was time for his first school dance. He looked so handsome and grown up. I went as a chaperon which didn’t make him too happy but he had fun and I left him alone and stayed with the other moms there.

Thursday, I spent most of my day catching up with household chores and laundry. I also started packing for our unexpected weekend trip. I’m so excited. Saturday, I will be attending my first blog conference in Orlando. I’m going to SheCon 2012!!! While I am at the conference all day Saturday, hubby will be keeping the kids and himself busy and after we’ll be meeting one of my high school friends for dinner.

But today is Friday. Time to find out what Hilary has in store for us. Each week she lists four statements with blanks for us to fill in. It’s easy, fun and entertaining. Why don’t you join her and the rest of us who play along?

Here are this weeks statements:

1.       After a long day, I like to ___

2.       ___is my favorite cleaning product

3.       I can’t stand to watch ___

4.       I want to ___ when I ___.

My answers:

1. After a long day, I like to soak my troubles away in a hot bubble bath, Breaking Dawn soundtrack on low, candles burning and reading a good book. (Right now that would be “Mockingjay”, the third book of The Hunger Games Trilogy!)

2. Fabuloso (lavender) is my favorite cleaning product.

3. I can’t stand to watch news involving abused, missing or murdered children. My mother’s heart cries for them and makes me worry about my own.

4. I want to “dance with somebody…”when I hear 80’s music. We used to have this fabulous 80’s club here and I so enjoyed going there and hearing old school Madonna, Whitney Houston etc. Good times!!! 🙂

(I linked the to the You Tube video above!)… You’re welcome. 🙂

Yes another fan of 80s music! My family makes fun of me, but I grew up in the 80s. How can you not love the music.

    • Susi May 27, 2012 at 8:49 pm

Yeah, I don’t know how people not like it. It makes me want to dance and have fun and smile!!!

Some of the 80s music was pretty good, but I can’t bear to hear it. Most of the songs are associated with too many bad memories growing up! I do like 70s disco, though. 😀

And I hear you on #3!!!!!! Same here.

    • Susi May 27, 2012 at 8:49 pm

That’s not good. For me 80’s music has a lot of good memories associated with it. I think, that’s one of the reasons I like it.

Thank you for the dance song. it’s going great with my wine! LOL
a nice bubble bath sounds great for tonight. we are having a bit of a thunderstorm (guess you stole that sunshine back, eh? haha), so it might just be by candlelight.

    • Susi May 27, 2012 at 7:32 pm

Not sure if i stole it back or someone else did. We have sunshine and thunderstorms on and off. And I’m looking forward to my bubble bath tonight!

I’m so excited for you for SheCon. I’m knee deep in blog rehauling and luckily I have plenty of time before BlogHer12, but part of me just can’t wait and wishes it was sooner. Happy long weekend Susi 🙂

    • Susi May 27, 2012 at 7:31 pm

Thanks, Megan. I had a wonderful time at SheCon. Glad I went there first, it was small and more intimate than BlogHer is going to be. Can’t wait to see what you did with your blog!!!

I did a double take with the boy… I was sure it was sweetheart. wow, you have twins on your hands! our #4 are almost the same – you can tell I am older **sigh**

    • Susi May 27, 2012 at 7:29 pm

You are not that much older. I just happen to like 80’s music more. And yes, my baby is getting big, too big. Sometimes, I really miss the little boy!!!

  • Briana May 26, 2012 at 12:15 am

Oh, I feel the same way about news like that. I just saw a missing child photo from a boy who had been missing 34 years. They had the digital update photo of what he looked like. It made me cry. 34 years, and his parents still haven’t given up hope.

    • Susi May 27, 2012 at 7:28 pm

That’s just terrible and so sad. It makes me want to bubble wrap the kids and never let them out of my sight!!!

Love your answer to #1…I’m one book behind you in the Hunger Games trilogy, just started Catching Fire.
Oh and you’ve been tagged! Hop on over if you want to play!! http://memesandfiction.blogspot.com/2012/05/tag-im-it.html

    • Susi May 27, 2012 at 7:26 pm

I can’t wait to get some more reading done. Didn’t have too much time this past week. And thanks for the tag!

  • Jennifer May 27, 2012 at 9:01 pm

I have not read Hunger Games yet, but I have heard a million good things about the series and I guess I must get on it!! 80s music makes me want to dance too! But I do it badly so I usually just bounce in my seat, ha!

    • Susi May 27, 2012 at 9:55 pm

It took me a while to get on it. I started reading the first book but it was slow going. Then I saw the movie and finished the first book… seems the other two read themselves. Couldn’t put them down. Bouncing is good… I do that to! 🙂

Reading is a great way to escape anything! I don’t care to read in the tub, but I do love to snuggle in my bed. In fact, today I am actually planning time to just hang out and read while hubby is at work. I can’t wait!

    • Susi May 28, 2012 at 8:11 pm

Hope you enjoyed your time reading and relaxing today.

i have always wanted to try fabuloso, lavender is my favorite cleaning scent, now i must get some.

    • Susi May 31, 2012 at 9:07 pm

I usually buy a big bottle and use it to make my own cleaning solution in a spray bottle. It’s very versatile.
