Follow Friday… and our first week of summer

June 7, 2012

Another Friday, another week gone by. Our first week of summer over already. This one was for relaxing and hanging at home. Well, except for Middle who went to work with her daddy… and he did put her to work.

I started working on those summer memories and spent time in the pool, mostly with little one. I forgot, how great a 30 minute swim workout feels. I still feel those little tugs and aches the next day… and it tells me I put my body to work and I’m keeping fit!!! I’m sure throwing around 35 lbs of screaming-in-delight child has a little something to do with it,too.

Time now to join Hilary at Feeling Beachie for her fill in fun. Each week she posts four statements with blanks for us to fill in on our own blogs. She is always looking for new statements, sent her some in an e-mail and if she chooses them you may be her next co-host!!!

Here are this weeks statements:

1.       When I ___ I ____

2.       I wish I was ___

3.       If the world is my oyster then _________________

4.       My favorite meal of the day is __________ and the food I think would be my favorite to eat then would be __________

My answers:

1. When I read a good book I get lost in my own little world.

2. I wish I was able to remember more of the French I learned in school and college. I love the language.

3. If the world is my oyster then my kids are my pearls.

4. My favorite meal of the day is dinner and the food I think would be my favorite to eat then would be a beautiful selection of fresh sashimi.

Love your answers, especially number 3. If I hadn’t been in such a mood, maybe I’d have answered the same way! My babies are indeed my treasure.

Ha ha, isn’t it funny how our moods affect our answers. I do the same sometimes!!!

It’s not an easy language to learn but I have always love languages and French is still one of my favorites.

I feel exactly the same about eating sashimi and to think I wouldn’t even kiss the hubby after he ate it… I’ve come a long way!!! 🙂

despite living in a bilingual country, and working in our nations’ capital….my French has so bady disappeared since being at home. trop mal!

I know I have said it before, but I could easily get lost in a good book by your pool too. although pretty sure splashing with the wee ones would pretty soon prove too tempting 🙂

    • Susi June 10, 2012 at 9:52 am

Yes, it’s always a toss up, sit and read or splash around with them… I do both!!! Now I don’t feel too bad about losing my French… it’s a bit of a shame though… I used to know and speak and read Russian, French, Spanish and French. My English is obviously way up there, and Spanish is not so bad because I’m surrounded by it. But I miss French, it’s such a beautiful language!!! We should get together and have study sessions! 🙂

I loved hanging out at the pool with my kids in the summer!

Reading a great book is my favorite thing!
I have to admit I have never heard of sashmi?

    • Susi June 10, 2012 at 9:49 am

Sashimi is sushi without the rice… raw fish only. And yes, hanging out by or in the pool with my kids is one of my favorite things to do during summer.

    • Susi June 10, 2012 at 9:46 am

Sashimi is basically sushi without the rice… so raw fish only and it’s fantastic if you get it at a good sushi restaurant!!!

Oh how I wish that I retained the French I learned too. It was mandatory in our Canadian schools to learn it. I was in classes all the way up until I graduated in Highschool. I dropped it for sign language when I started nursing school.
    Sigh.

    • Susi June 10, 2012 at 5:10 pm

When I first started to learn a foreign language I had to learn Russian because we were under Communist rule at the time. Now English is mandatory in most schools in Germany.
