”Son, you outgrew my lap, but never my heart.” ~Unknown
It’s been a week of many new things,
more grown-up things.
The first locker at school,
learning how to open that lock.
A pierced ear,
because that seemed to be the thing to do.
Meetings for joining the golf team.
Trying on golf shoes,
in your mom’s shoe size.
A doctor’s check-up,
the news that you’ve grown three inches.
How did my baby, my first-born, my only son
grow into such a big boy?
Where does the time go?
Not a mischievous toddler anymore,
but a brainy middle schooler.
(Who got into some honors classes! Yes, this mommy is very proud.
)
No matter your size,
I’ll love you,
always!!!

Wow so big! The grow so fast. *sigh*

Yes, they do. Way too fast.

It hit me like a brick last week, how much my only Grandson has grown, it seems like yesterday that I was singing ” all of my love” to Conner and he liked it ( at least that’s what I tell myself). I wish him a perfect first year at Middle School. I’m the proudest Omi in whole wide world.
It does hit you all of a sudden. Our baby boy isn’t a baby anymore. And I’m sure he loved you singing to him!!!

Oh my goodness. So many changes so fast! I’ll be a puddle on the floor when that happens to my oldest, I just know it. Your boy looks like an awesome big brother, and so sweet. Yay for honors and golf and lockers and pierced ears! Oh, and freckles!
Greta @gfunkified recently posted..Back At It. #iPPP
Definitely yay for freckles. I love them… and yes, the changes just keep coming.
Oh they really do always look small in our eyes, don’t they? I always see their baby faces somewhere in there!
{Love this, you!}

I do see the baby face in him still, especially the smiling picture of him. He was always so mischievous and the smile said it all.
3 inches? wow!
if my son grows 3 more inches, I think he’d be as tall as me. he’s almost 8 — the teen years will be rough if I have to look up at him! LOL
adore this quote, so sweet. Hope he has a fantastic year.

I swear by next summer he’ll be as tall as me. I can’t believe how he shot up this year. And thanks, I hope so too.
Oh my gosh how grown up.. and I have to say, he DOES look like the best big brother. What a lucky mama you are!
Yes, yes I am. I’m a very lucky mama.

He looks so grown up – I’m sure he’s gonna love middle school!

Highschool? I know it’ll be here before I know it. Everyone says these middle school years go by so fast.
Where does the time go? I wish him luck with school and golf.
I wish I knew. And thanks.

This is my near future, yes? Sigh, why do they grow so quickly?

Yes, it will be your future… and unfortunately it goes by a lot quicker than you think.
three inches – wow… he is one handsome man!
He used to look totally like sweetheart, but I think he is starting to look a little more like you!
Hilary recently posted..Late Bloomer – wordless wednesday
I think, it depends on what face he makes. It comes and goes, one day he looks like sweetheart and the next like me.
God help him if he ends up looking like me!
You are not that bad!!!

It’s a killer when you have to buy men’s sized athletic shoes with the man-sized price isn’t it? And my daughter started middle school with her locker too.

Yes, it is. I’m very thankful for Amazon!!!
I feel you on this one. My oldest son is going to high school this year. How did that happen??? You have a handsome boy there, my friend. Good luck to him!

Love your words and pictures! This also sums up how I’m feeling about my oldest right now – except that she’s a girl
And we don’t have lockers in middle school.

Thanks. My kids are actually at a private school. I’m not sure if they have lockers at the public middle schools around here.
Middle school is my favorite age to teach. I hope his teachers are as excited about that age as I was!
We’ve met a few of the teachers and they all seem pretty nice. We’ll see how it goes!
Awww that is so sweet.

I’m sorry to hear about the captcha… I’m pretty sure it’s set to it’s lowest level. Not sure I want to get rid of it completely.

I love that quote. It’s so true. Wow. I can’t imagine when my oldest will be entering Middle School and getting his own locker! That seems like such a long way off but I know that it will be here before I know it. Beautiful pictures and post.

This was a sweet post Susi and you made me think of when my little boys will be older…it happens way too fast! You must be so proud of him
