Time to say goodbye and some fill ins…

December 6, 2012

Time to join Hilary for some fill in fun.
It’s been a busy week here and I’m pooped after bringing my sister and her family to the airport in Miami.
They are heading back to Germany after their vacation here.
I hate driving down there – it exhausts me every time.
I just barely made it back in time to get the kids from school.
But I made it.
So, without further ado…
************************************************************************************************************

Each week, Hilary plans on listing four statements with a blank for us to fill in on our own blogs. If you want to join the fun and come up with four fill in’s of your own, please email them to her at hilary(at)feelingbeachie(dot)com. If she uses them, she will add you as co-host to the hop! This week’s co-host is Beckey from the really, really, real housewives – she came up with the last two statements!

Hilary really can use some co-hosts.. Please email her ideas – hilary(at)feelingbeachie(dot)com

She would LOVE it if you could please help her spread the word about this hop…. So, please tweet, FaceBook share, and add the linky to your post…

This week’s statements:
1. ___in the ___ is the ___
2. __is my____
3. I like to think ____; but I know _____.
4. If I just ______, then I could ______.

My answers:

1. A warm bubble bath in the evening is the best way to relax.

2. Reading is my favorite downtime.

3. I like to think that I’m a pretty good mom; but I know there is always room for improvement. (Live and learn!)

4. If I just had a little more time, then I could get so many things done that are on my mental to-do list.

Ha! I agree with every statement you wrote! Except that I never have enough time for a bath, to read, or complete what’s on my to-do list… So I’ll just think about being a pretty good mom. How’s that? J/K. There’s ALWAYS room for improvement!

Sandra, I’m glad you agree with my statements. Now if you combine the bath time with reading time you’ll cross two things of your list!!! 😉

I am thinking with this head cold, a hot steamy bath is the perfect way to end this day. And I will probably read while I am there too — it’s the only place I can get peace and quiet to read!

I hope you had a lovely visit with your sister and her family. Must be sad to see them go.

The bathtub is my reading, thinking and quiet place too. It is sad to see them go…

I combine a bubble bath with reading a good book. Multi tasking like that is my sanity.

  • Kimberly December 7, 2012 at 5:58 am

I think that us moms should be able to have the power to stop time…mostly so that we can nap 🙂

Kimberly, yes I would love to stop time for a quick 20 minute catnap every day. I used to be able to do it but lately haven’t had the time!

Hilary, when it’s cold outside a hot bubble bath is even better. And after having company even more relaxing!

That mental to do list is a killer for me. That is my guilt center talking. It is a constant battle between productivity and relaxation.

Wayne, same here. Sometimes you just have to opt for relaxation to be able to tackle those endless lists properly.

I love hot baths and always make some time for them, so important to relax it helps keep you sane and then you can keep being that good mother 🙂

Beth Ann, same here… bath and book time is sacred in my house. Everyone knows to back off!!! And thank you so, so much. I’m glad that it somehow shines through how much I love being a mom and how much I love my three “monsters”!!! 🙂

The mental list is a killer for me and it usually leaves me feeling like I could be a better mom becuase of all the things I forget to do on the list ergggh so I escape to the hot-tub. I wonder if we read the same page of the book as well?? LOL Have a great weekend ^,^

    • Susi December 7, 2012 at 11:27 pm

That mental list sure can get to me. But the book and bath always come to the rescue!!! 🙂 Have a nice weekend, too!

  • Arlene December 7, 2012 at 4:10 pm

I personally would rather eat shards of glass than drive into MIA. The thought of it makes me break out in hives.

Reading is one of my favorite pastimes too. I find it as relaxing as a bubble bath.

    Have a great weekend.

Miami is pretty bad. The construction around the area is crazy. I’d much rather go to Ft.Lauderdale or West Palm Beach. Hope you have a great weekend too!

Oh goodness, I’m with you on #4! There never really is enough hours in the day, is there? Glad you got your family off to the airport safely. Those goodbyes are so tough, huh? Especially when making those drives back from the airport with tears in your eyes. 🙁

I don’t much care for airport runs either! I’m glad you had a nice visit though. 🙂 I love reading as downtime as well, such a relaxing escape.

I think you are a fabulous mom! I love to read and put back a book I had in my Target cart today out of guilt for no time and money that needed to be spent elsewhere. I need a good romance to sink my teeth into so I can escape for a little while (in the bath of course).

Ann Marie, thank you so much. It’s good to get lost in the pages of a good book every once in awhile and forget about the world around you!
