The Tower Bridge in London opens up, but I haven’t witness it yet.

You’ll be closer to the one further north. This one was actually the one on Camino way south of Linton!!! 🙂 Can’t wait to see you.

    Very nice shots!
We have all kinds of these around here……it’s called the lock system and there’s either a bridge that raises, or these “locks” that fill up with water so boats can pass along the St. Lawrence Seaway and into the Great Lakes. There is a major one in Ottawa – the Capital of Canada – just 1/2 hour down the road from us. The kids love watching the boats go through. I’ll have to show them your pics – they’ll get such a kick!

I remember, we went through a “lock” once in Germany when we were on a river cruise. It was pretty awesome. I love watching the bridges open, too. You think, you’d get used to it but I am still enthralled by these type of things even after all this time of living here.

Ooh, very cool. I love to see bridges open like that. Phee hasn’t seen one yet, and I can’t wait ’til she does… she’ll think it’s so neat.

    • Susi January 16, 2013 at 12:18 pm

Helen, it was really cool to see it from the water instead of from the road.

  • Amy January 16, 2013 at 12:28 pm

Love the shots. Really like how the water almost looks like crystal.

Amy, thanks for noticing. I loved the effect too. It was such a gorgeous bright day.

Those are fun to watch- unless you are wanting to cross that bridge.

    • Susi January 16, 2013 at 9:20 pm

That’s very, very true. We’ve been stuck behind the bridge many, many times! 🙂

  • Tami January 16, 2013 at 6:47 pm

    Nice!!!!!!!
There is a bridge similar in New Jersey. We have to cross it to get into Ocean City.

This is only one of many we have here going from the “mainland” to the coastal areas. I always love going over them and seeing the water. It was such a cool experience to see it from the boat.

I always think that’s so cool, except when I’ve just been caught as the first car. LOL

    • Susi January 17, 2013 at 9:57 pm

Liz, that is the pits, isn’t it? 🙂
