10 ways to spend 30 minutes

April 22, 2013

Today’s Monday ListicleΒ is something I often wish for — 30 minutes of uninterrupted time, spent the way I want to spend it. Granted, I often hide myself away in my bathroom, soaking in the tub but even that time isn’t always uninterrupted and the pitter-patter of little feet can usually be heard. πŸ™‚

An extra 30 minutes a day could be spent…

1) Enjoying a hotΒ cup of coffee or tea. I generally get to drink it lukewarm.

2) Sitting, curled up on the couch, reading a good book.

3) Coloring my hair to hide away the greys trying to peek through.

4) Giving myself a mani-pedi or better yet, go somewhere and get one.

5) Writing this post without having to open a bunch of play dough containers. (Yes, that totally just happened!)

6) Taking a cat nap on a recliner (if we still had one).

7) Talking to my sister and actually having a conversation.

8) Sitting on the beach with my toes in the sand and just soaking up the quiet.

9) Browsing through Marshalls or TJMaxx without having to worry about where my child is hiding.

10) And just like Stasha — doing absolutely nothing!

ohmygosh — the playdoh thing! for me it was opening up packages of beads so they could make jewellery bracelets. and threading the beads on the string. and tying the knots in the string.
basically, it’s jewellery done by mom. LOL

we definitely both deserve a mani/pedi!

I got a haircut this weekend and the entire time he was cutting my hair I kept thinking to myself, “How have I not noticed all of these grey hairs.” I need to schedule a highlight next time.

    • Susi April 23, 2013 at 10:43 am

I’ve had highlights done once before and keep thinking, I want to give it another try. But I don’t like spending the money on it that’s why I usually just do it myself! πŸ™‚

I thought that you wrote…Browsing through meatballs…hee hee.
I totally need a pedi. My feet got beat up this winter. I’m kind of embarrassed by them.

Kimberly, that’s one of the reasons I’m happy we live close to the beach — I love the “natural” pedicure you can get by walking in the sand. πŸ™‚

Oh yes, 30 minutes to dye my hair. I always buy hair dye but then it takes a month to get around to using it because I just can’t find the uninterrupted time. Last time I tried, B broke in with the cat and dye wound up on my feet, the floor (we’re renting so that is a bummer), and our white cat. He had red polka dots for a month.

Ha ha ha. Red polka dots — did you call the cat Dottie for a month? πŸ™‚ Yeah, I try to lock the door when I do it because it can get messy…

I love to spend time on the couch, reading a great book and drinking a tea or coffee. So relaxing!

    • Susi April 29, 2013 at 12:23 pm

Yes, I wish I could do more of it but my children can’t see me sitting down – the minute I do, they need something! πŸ™‚

  • Yona April 26, 2013 at 7:26 pm

I love browsing through Marshalls or TJMaxx – they have the best clearance sections…fortunately, I don’t have to worry about interruptions…except for my impatient sweetie if he comes along.

    Happy belated Listicle Monday!.
