{Project 365} 144/365 – 151/365

May 29, 2013

144/365 (May 22)

Rain, rain, rain… The rain season has officially begun in South Florida. But we’ve had more than just the typical afternoon showers. We’ve had so much rain that flooding has been an issue. My backyard has a pond where there wasn’t one before.

Regen, Regen, Regen…

Laptop screen repair in progress. It was a scary sight seeing my laptop in so many pieces and hearing my husband mutter to himself for two hours. Everything worked out beautifully (not that I had any doubt) – I’m typing away on it right now. 🙂

151/365 (May 29)

Woke up to this again this morning. I’m listening to the rain come down in a steady drip, drip, drip and the frogs are giving a concert in the backyard.

Wieder zu Regen aufgewacht. Ich höre dem ständigen tropf, tropf, tropf des Regen’s zu und auch den Fröschen, die in meinem Garten ein Konzert geben.

5-29 rain again

    Love your cat! 🙂
David did the same thing with my Laptop! And succeeded!

    • Susi May 29, 2013 at 11:32 am

So did my hubby… He is my own personal tech! 🙂

    • Susi May 29, 2013 at 11:32 am

rain, rain, rain….same wet story here.
But since I did just do a big overhaul in my gardens, I will try not to complain.
and our grass seed could certainly use it.
now if I can just keep the kids occupied — I think it will be a cuddles and movie day.

    • Susi May 29, 2013 at 11:31 am

That’s always the question, isn’t it – how to keep the kids entertained? I try not to complain too much about the rain – it has it’s advantages but lately, it’s been a little crazy with all this wetness…

Hopefully the rain clears up for you in time for the weekend and good luck with the laptop – looks like your husband did a great job!

    • Susi May 29, 2013 at 5:05 pm

I hope so too. We’ll see and hope for the best. 🙂

  • Greta May 29, 2013 at 5:35 pm

Oh, sometimes I get so jealous looking at your pool and sun pictures! I hope the flooding stops for you….I hate that feeling of having to get through water or snow to even get out of the house. Ugh. My husband also had to fix my laptop screen…he did it, but yes. There was a lot of muttering!

    • Susi May 29, 2013 at 10:50 pm

So far, the flooding is contained to the backyard – but if the rain keeps up our lakes may meet in the middle of the road again.

I always love looking at your pictures. And I didn’t even know there was a rain season in Florida, I thought you guys get the sunshine all year long 🙂

    • Susi May 29, 2013 at 10:49 pm

Thanks, Kerstin. That means a lot. And yes, we get a rain season. Maybe, I’ll write about it! 🙂

Was fuer schoene Bilder. Froesche Konzerte sind einfach die Beste. I love the Florida rainy season and the way it cools the air and makes everyone drive like crazy people. Great small moments!

    • Susi May 30, 2013 at 3:54 pm

Ha ha ha. So true – everyone does drive like a crazy person. I don’t always like the rain because it doesn’t always cool things down – sometimes, the air just gets more sticky and it gets hard too breathe. But overall, I’ll take it over a hurricane any day! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

  • Runnermom-jen May 30, 2013 at 10:01 pm

It has rained for 5 straight days here…going a little nutty! 😉
So glad your husband could fix your laptop. It’s nice to have a tech savvy person in the family.
I love the pic of you and your daughter hanging out by the pool.

    • Susi May 30, 2013 at 10:29 pm

Thanks, Jen. Yes, I’m so happy that hubby is so good at all that stuff. He’s saved me more than once. 🙂
