Random thoughts and fill in fun

June 7, 2013

Random thoughts:

– Today is day two of the kids summer break and the sun is finally peeking through the clouds. If all goes well they’ll finally be able to hop in the pool and have some fun. In a bit of an ironic twist, we had our first Tropical Storm of the season on the first day of summer break. Luckily, we were spared the worst of it and only had to deal with some blustery winds and some rain. A town north of us was not so lucky and suffered through a tornado.

– The hubby and I had a movie night last night, we watched the new(ish) Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. We really liked it. I don’t know what it is but I really love all the super hero movies — Spider-Man, Superman (cannot wait for Man of Steele), Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers and Thor. Love them all. Maybe it has something to do with all those tight suits and muscles – who knows! 🙂

– Middle brought home a beach ball for her little sister and ever since Wednesday, all I’ve been saying is: “Please stop playing with that in the house!” She’ll stop for a few minutes and as soon as she thinks I’m not paying attention she starts again. Time to throw that ball in the pool…

– Tomorrow I go in for training and orientation and open house later in the afternoon. If I wasn’t so excited, I would crumble about having to be up and about so early on a Saturday morning. But I’m looking forward to it and hope for an amazing experience. Summer camp here we come!!!

– Talking about summer camp… I will try my best and keep up with all things blog related but I may need a few days to get my bearings, so please, forgive me if I don’t read and comment as much as I am now!!! I’ll be pretty much working a full-time schedule and will have to see how my evenings pan out. I’m going to try to schedule a few posts and then go from there. I hope, you all will stick around to hear about my adventures as a summer camp counselor. 🙂

Time for some fill in fun with…

Each week, Hilary plans on listing four statements with a blank for us to fill in on our own blogs. If you want to join the fun and come up with four fill in’s of your own, please email them to her at Hilary(at)feelingbeachie(dot)com. If she uses them, she will add you as co-host to the hop! This week’s co-host is PAM from TROOPPETRIE who came up with the last statement! I REALLY NEED CO-HOSTS, after so many weeks I am running out of statements!

Hilary would LOVE it if you could please help her spread the word about this hop…. So, please tweet, FaceBook share, and add the linky to your post…

This week’s statements:

2. Sometimes I wonder how people lived without ____ in the past
3. I love to get ____ in the mail because ___
4. I If I could change the temperature today to____________ then________________.

My answers:

1. I love that my husband has cooking skills because now I don’t have to cook dinner every night.

2. Sometimes I wonder how people lived without Netflix in the past.

3. I love to get letters/cards in the mail because they make me smile.

4. If I could change the temperature today to a little cooler and less humidity then I would actually go outside.

Claudia, it’ll take some getting used to that’s for sure. Only good thing is that I won’t bring any work home with me from this one… That makes it a bit easier! 🙂

I think you may be a bit confused, “Man of Steel” is Superman’s nickname… “Man of Steele” would be on NBC and work For Stephanie Zimbalist! 😉

It was nice coming home to some homemade chili this afternoon after my first day of work! 🙂

I’m so with you on the cooking and the Netflix. I love to come home from work and see that my husband has been in the kitchen. It makes going from being a stay-at-home mom to a working mother so much easier to handle. As far as Netflix, I LOVE that you can stop a show or movie in the middle and pick back up later. I can’t seem to stay awake for a whole movie anymore.

Yeah, I love the commercial free shows… You can sit and watch a whole season in one sitting! 🙂

I can so relate on the ball in the house. My kids all play soccer and I constantly hear the ball bouncing around in the house…they dribble it and practice moves…I have pretty much given up hope on stopping them. But I put my foot down if it goes in the air. That is absolutely not allowed!

    • Susi June 12, 2013 at 10:38 pm

Yeah, it’s the throwing that leads to issues. 🙂
