(#sponsored) Cascade Platinum – even your dishwasher will sparkle

July 1, 2013

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cascade. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.”

Growing up in Germany we didn’t have a dishwasher. No sirree, once my sister and I were old enough, we were the “dishwashers” and “dish driers”. I still remember cleaning up the table after lunch or dinner, filling the sink with soap and hot water and washing and scrubbing the dishes and handing them over to my little sister to dry. For some reason, whenever it was time to dry the silverware she had to go to the bathroom and I was left with the task. Looking back, we laugh at it now, but back then I remember, I was always mad at her for giving me extra work.

Fast forward 20 years, now my two older children have the chore of cleaning out the dishwasher and putting away the dishes. They do it without too much grumbling and when they do, I tell them my dish washing story and that usually quiets them down. They have  it so easy nowadays!!!

It used to be that I would hear an “Eew” when they took out a plate or cup that had some stuck on food or residue on it. But no more. Ever since I started using Cascade Platinum dishwashing pacs in my dishwasher I noticed a big difference. No more stuck on food, my glasses are so much clearer and water spots are a thing of the past. But the biggest difference I noticed is that my dishwasher itself is a lot cleaner. It had these spots on the inside door and no matter what, they never went away. I even used a dishwasher cleaner and that made no difference. But within a few uses of Cascade Platinum the spot were almost gone.

That is the clean that Cascade Platinum promises:

A clean so powerful it helps keep the dishwasher sparkling while delivering a variety of dish care benefits.

Cascade Platinum features a premium, advanced triple-action formula specially designed to deliver Cascade’s best-in-market performance.

Even Gail Simmons, Top Chef judge and editor of Food+Wine magazine is impressed with the power of Cascade Platinum and has partnered with Cascade to discuss why the presentation of food is just as important as the preparation.

Here is a little video of her discussing the importance of plating food, especially because so many of us take photos of our food, me included, and we want it to look our best.

Cascade is also running a “My Platinum” contest on Instagram for 4 weeks and each week 2 lucky winners will receive a brand new Whirlpool dishwasher and one grand prize winner will receive a kitchen make over. I would love to have my kitchen made over, wouldn’t you?

BethAnn, I really loved using these and will get a new bag next time I’m at the store. I’m all out and not happy with my regular dish detergent at all!

Hmm, I’ll soon be out of mine, so I might give these a try. Thanks, Susi.
p.s. I, too, remember having been a ‘human dishwasher’ – LOL

Ha ha. Human dishwasher – that’s a good one. Let me know what you think if you buy them. I just got another bag yesterday.

I was, just today, talking to my mom about the pods on detergents and the warnings I saw in grocery stores around here. I love the idea of premeasured packets for ease and to know exactly how much I have left before I need to buy more. I do worry, though, about people storing them where their children can’t get a hold of them. No worries for me, though. My girls are both well passed that age!

Yeah, as with all cleaning supplies you have to be careful. Mine are old enough to know better too. And I totally love these.
