Stormy Skies

August 2, 2013

Instead of a beautiful sunset we saw dark and stormy skies thanks to the remnants of former Tropical Storm Dorian on our walk tonight.

The clouds were hanging ominously over our heads as we were walking.

A few raindrops fell here and there.

And the breeze moved through the trees, shaking the branches and making ripples on the water.

But even though there was no sunset, it was still beautiful – in an eerie way.

And sometimes, listening to the rain fall on the roof and hearing the thunder rattle the windows, is the perfect way to spend an evening snuggled up on the couch with a hot cup of tea by your side.

Do you enjoy a good show put on by mother nature?

P.S. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!

Beautiful skies – love these clouds! And in contrast with the bright houses – nice. I think that storm might have arrived here, because this morning it is gray and raining.

Well, most of the storm seems to be here still… today we have the brunt of it. Lots of rain, thunder, lightening…

Love these pictures, Susi!!! Storms are always neat to watch from a safe vantage point. I have never been one to freak out over storms—-I like to watch the show!

They sure are fun to watch… I do like a good storm, especially when I can sit on the couch with a good book and a cup of tea. 🙂

The skies are beautiful and yet ominous. I hope the storm wasn’t a bad one.

Tami, it didn’t actually hit until the next day (Saturday) – it was soooo dark, I had every light on in the house, in the middle of the day and little one didn’t leave my side!
