{Instagram Sunday} August 18

August 17, 2013

We are now one week away from the start of school for all three of the kiddos. Our county schools go back this Monday. The private school my kids attend doesn’t follow the exact same schedule and this way we get to enjoy an extra week of summer fun.

We’ve had lots of that. Pool, pool, pool – is what this week was all about with a “little” school prep thrown in for good measure. One day we tried on uniforms to see what the kids would need for this year. The boy outgrew everything from last year and needed a complete new wardrobe. Middle daughter needed a few extras since she ruined a shirt or two with ink stains – don’t ask me how. And Little One got most of her sisters hand me downs from her first year at school – with a few new uniforms thrown in for good measure.

8-17 uniforms

Just typing that makes my heart clutch a little… My “baby” is finally starting Pre-k this year and while I know she is ready and will do great, the closer we get to D-day, the more I get that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. ALL three of them will be gone for the day, doing their thing. I’m so glad they all get to be at the same school and they all get to have wonderful teachers.

Little One already met her two teachers at camp this summer and LOVES them so that is a huge thing in my book. Can’t wait to see how Open House goes next Friday. I’m sure there will be lots of pics on Instagram.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week. Good luck to all the kids and parents and teachers who are heading back to school – wish you all a great school year!!!

xo, Susi

Hmmmm, while I can understand that it will be kind of strange to have all of your kids out of the house for the day – imagine the time, possibilities and things you can do… πŸ™‚ Nevertheless enjoy your last week of summer holidays!

Claudia, you have a point and I have some things going through my mind… Some things didn’t turn out the way I had hoped. We’ll have to see what will happen, won’t we???

I love your summer fun picture collage Susi! Looks like you all made the most of it before school goes back πŸ™‚
Good luck to all three of your kiddos for a fantastic school year and especially little one because she is just starting out. You will miss them all I am sure, but enjoy your peace and quiet too πŸ™‚
Do you guys wear school uniforms because it is a private school?

    • Susi August 19, 2013 at 11:54 am

Thanks, Kerry. As for the uniforms – yes and no – they do wear uniforms because they go to private school. The uniforms are a little more formal than public school. But even most public -mostly elementary- school wear some form of uniform, at least a polo with the school logo!

I do hope all of you enjoy the last week of summer. It has been so long since I did back to school shopping. So long!

    • Susi August 19, 2013 at 11:52 am

All we really have to shop for are school supplies. The kids have to wear uniforms so there is no lengthy clothe shopping involved – which I love. And most of those things can be done online now.

beautiful pics as always. And how cute is Little in that uniform!! adorable.
My own little finally starts what we call Junior K this September, and I also will suddenly find myself with all 3 kids in school all day. And an empty house!!!
    I cannot even imagine.
I mean, I’m sad. totally sad. a little. ha!
I am sure I will miss them after a couple of weeks, but I have lots of projects lined up to keep me busy.

I know exactly what you mean – if we get too lonely we can always Skype or do a Google hangout with a nice cup of tea or coffee and commiserate!!! But I have some projects lined up too since the jobs I looked into didn’t end up materializing. I’ve got plans though, big plans!!! πŸ™‚

Aww how cute! My son hasn’t started actual school yet but he is in an IEP program. He would be starting off kinder next year. I can’t wait but I am also going to be so sad because they grow so fast!!

Aww. I can only imagine how I’ll react when that time comes for me.

It was an adjustment with each of them but with this last one it seems especially hard… the last one leaving the nest!!!
