The past few days were busy ones. Trying to finish up all the preparation for back-to-school before the kids’ first day back on Monday.
Thursday, the girls and I finished shopping for school supplies after dropping the boy of at his friend’s house for one last summer sleepover. By the time we got home it was just about dinner time. We organized and labeled everything – something I actually like doing – but, psst, don’t tell anyone! 🙂 It was the first time I had to label things with Little One’s name and that put a bit of a lump in my throat.
After dinner the girls’ and I headed across the street for an end of summer fro-yo treat at Tutti Frutti. Little One made herself quite comfortable and proceeded to watch some TV while devouring her treat.
Friday brought us one day closer to the beginning of school and the very first day of school for Little One. We went to open house/orientation and got to meet everyone’s teachers. Little One loves her teachers, she met both of them over the summer at camp, so she is already somewhat familiar with them and already knows some of her classmates, as well. This year, the kids get to enjoy the new library/media center and all new middle school classrooms for the boy. I wish, I could go to school there and sit in the grotto listening to stories!
We snuck in some more pool time which was much more fun and relaxing then trying to figure out what was wrong with my poor laptop. And also very exciting when I found out my girls were featured on Instagram for the #pooldays prompt by @babbleeditors!
Watching and listening to middle daughter narrate a video of her school supply haul put a huge smile on my face. She wants to be the next big YouTube sensation and practices her “tutorial” voice all day long! I love that she has no fear of the camera or of doing video of herself. I want to start vlogging in the worst way possible but I’m way too chicken!
How has your week been? Survived the first week of school? Getting ready to head back like we are? Let me now in the comments!!!
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a wonderful week ahead.
If you don’t hear from me, I may be hiding in the closet, curled up in the fetal position, bemoaning the fact that all THREE of the kiddos are in school now. 🙂
