A short, broken up week and some fill ins

September 5, 2013

This week was short but also very strange. I got my days all mixed up with the kids having Monday off for Labor Day and again yesterday for Rosh Hashana (L’Shana Tova to my Jewish friends!)… I did enjoy sleeping in though!

I’m also very happy to see that some of my favorite shows on Netflix finally have new episodes/seasons added and I can watch again. Revenge. Scandal. Once Upon a Time. Oh yeah…

These past few days I’ve also been very busy learning, as the hubby puts it, another language – HTML and CSS. I found this great web site called Code Academy and the tutorials make it so easy to learn and practice. I’m diving into javascript and php next. And even as I type this I’m getting excited about it and that’s just too weird – I’m getting nerdier by the day. Ha!

sunflower

Took this picture on Monday when we were out an about. There is just something about a sunflower that always makes me smile.

————————————————————————————————————————————–Each week, Hilary plans on listing four statements with a blank for us to fill in on our own blogs. If you want to join the fun and come up with four fill in’s of your own, please email them to her. If she uses them, she will add you as co-host to the hop! This week’s co-host is Beth Ann from It’s Just Life – she came up with the last two statements! I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY NEED SOME STATEMENTS!

Hilary would LOVE it if you could please help me spread the word about this hop…. So, please tweet, FaceBook share, and add the linky to your post…

This week’s statements:

1) _________ happen
2) I hate when you ____ and _____
3) The bravest thing I have ever done is ___________
4) I like my _____________ and ________________.

My answers:

1) Life happen(s).

2) I hate when you sit down at the end of the day thinking you are done and then remember the laundry that still has to be folded.

3) The bravest thing I have ever done is raising a family.

4) I like my bed and fluffy goose down pillow.

Thanks, Kerstin. Can I tell you a little secret? I’m a little impressed with myself too – I didn’t think I could do it and I surprised myself!

Hey Susi! I love your answer for the bravest thing you have done!! How true is that?
I do not have the brain capacity to learn what you are learning, but good on you for doing so!! I surprised myself with even getting this blog up and running hahaha

Kerry, I’m glad you agree. I was drawing a complete blank on that one and than it just kind of popped into my head. I love learning all the coding – my husband really put it best – he said look at it like learning another language – and that’s basically what it is! 🙂

Love the sunflower. My days get mixed up as well however it is more because I don’t go to work.

Thanks, Judy. I think, without the kids’ school schedule my days would get mixed up a lot more… 🙂

    Oh the laundry!!!
I do that with towels only they end up staying in the washing machine…word for the wise…when you remember, don’t open the lid without plugging your nose!!!

Uhm, yeah, I’ve done that too. As much as I dread doing laundry – I try to keep up with it as best as I can. I’d rather do a small load and deal with that, than a huge load a few days later.

Getting the laundry all done, folded and put away seems to take up too much of my time! I hate it when I finally sit down at night just to have to jump back up to do something I forgot.

Yeah, I like it even less when one of the kiddos decides it’s a good idea to tell me that they still need to finish a project for school or sth like that! 🙂

yep, that was very brave! and you make it look easy!

Ha! I may make it look easy but it definitely isn’t – but worth it!!! 🙂

    *snap fingers*
    thanks about the laundry reminder!

love the sunflower. they do just bring a smile don’t they.
And I know all about your learning right now. when I was doing my blog makeover last time, I was up to my ears in strange codes of HTML and CSS and oh boy did I regret my English Degree in these moments. But it is fun to meet that new challenge isn’t it? I didn’t even really feel that nerdier. haha
Mostly I’ve been blog lazy lately though. I didn’t even get to the Fill Ins this week because I had to prepare lessons for the New sunday School program this year. Next week – back on track!

I get the “blog lazy” thing right now – haven’t been on here since Friday morning. We were out of town until today and I didn’t get around to it. As for the learning – I truly enjoy it and can’t wait to get certified!!! 🙂
