Friday Fill in Fun and Essence of Now

September 27, 2013

This week we had lots of fun.

We celebrated our littlest’s birthday. She’s 5 now. As someone said – one whole hand and that’s kind of a big deal. I marveled last night that middle daughter was this age when little one was born. Time just never stands still… In three short months we’ll have a teenager under our roof. HELP!!!

I got in some evening snuggle time which I’ve enjoyed so much. It happens less and less and she’s the only one that still likes to sit and snuggle like this. Grabbing these moments with both hands and holding on tight.

Dealing with some typical stormy Florida weather for the past few days. It comes and goes. And while I much prefer the sun, sometimes, watching the clouds roll in and do their thing can be a spectacular show.

Oh yeah, and this guy seems to be interested in buying some fruits and veggies at Publix. He was fluttering about and actually made me screech when he swooped in while I was picking out tomatoes. Quite the sight, I’m sure. πŸ™‚

I’ve also been enjoying weekly lunches with this guy. It’s so nice to just sit, enjoy some great food and talk without having the kids around. Yes, there apparently is a pleasant side-effect to having all three kids in school!

Each week, Hilary plans on listing four statements with a blank for us to fill in on our own blogs. If you want to join the fun and come up with four fill in’s of your own, please email them to her. If she uses them, she will add you as co-host to the hop! This week’s co-host is Beth Ann from It’s Just Life– she came up with the last two statements! Hilary REALLY, REALLY, REALLY NEEDs SOME STATEMENTS!

Hilary would LOVE it if you could please help her spread the word about this hop…. So, please tweet, FaceBook share, and add the linky to your post…

This week’s statements:
1) I am so ____ for my _____
2) ____ me, I ______
3) I am _______ at keeping secrets.
4) I ____ that _____ was here already.

My answers:

1) I am so ready for my kids to come home and get the weekend started!

2) “Listen to me”, I say that to my kids ALL of the time.

3) I am much better at keeping secrets. ( Now that I am older.)

4) I wish that next summer was here already. ( Can’t wait for camp to start.) πŸ™‚

I wish, we had fall type weather and the changing leaves. I’m going to have to wait a bit for cooler temps. πŸ™‚

oye – if I had a nickel for every time I said “listen to me”. they probably would listen to me because I would be rich!
Happy Birthday to Little! yeah – even though she’s 5, she will always be your littlest.
my little turns 4 in a month. she’s still cuddly.
but then again so is the 9 year old. honestly, if I am in the same room, at least 2 of them will be touching me in some way. ha

Happy Birthday to your sweet girl. Oh I can’t imagine how much I’ll miss the snuggles some day when the boys grow up. My husband wonders why I’m so content to just sit with the baby sleeping on my lap or shoulder, it is because I’m so grateful for time with him now before he gets too big for it. They really do grow so fast.

Your rain storm picture made me miss our visits to Florida so much. Watching a thunderstorm roll in there was magical. And if it happens during the day, the sunset after is incredible.

I used to love to lay on the recliner with the kids when they were babies and just hold them. πŸ™‚

Please don’t wish for next summer already! I am wanting to slow time down!

    • Susi September 29, 2013 at 10:58 pm

Lisa, I know what you mean. As much as I wish it was that time again already – I do want time to slow down just a little when it comes to the kids growing. πŸ™‚
