Friday Fun #2

January 9, 2014

Thought I would share this shot from our recent trip to Disney with you. I was watching the birds on the ferry ride to the Magic Kingdom and decided to try to get a shot like this. I love it when a planned shot comes out the way you hoped it would.

We are currently under a flash flood warning until about 3 AM. I’m sitting here on the couch listening to the rain and it’s so soothing, except for short periods where it comes down so hard that instead of soothing it is just plain noisy! I hope that Ally won’t wake up because of it. She doesn’t like the sound of the rain and usually ends up in bed with us at one point or another during the night during rain storms like this.

I hope the rain let’s up soon and my commute to work will be a little less idiotic. As soon as it drizzles a little bit people start driving increasingly bad around here. I’ve been going to our school’s sister campus for training for the past few days and while I’ve enjoyed my time there, I look forward to going back to our campus, including the much shorter commute.

Training for the new job is going well, in fact, I don’t have to do a full week and can start properly on Monday. While I am a little nervous because of another change happening, I am also super excited to get in there and get organized and start doing what I am supposed to be doing. I think, it will be great! This is not something I ever expected to be doing and to find out I enjoy it is just such a wonderful thing. Fingers crossed all will go well without a hitch!!!

Each week, Hilary lists four statements with a blank for us to fill in on our own blogs. If you want to join the fun and come up with four fill in’s of your own, please email them to her. If she uses them, she will add you as co-host to the hop!

This week’s co-host is yours truly! πŸ™‚

The statements are:
  • I have been ____ so if I _____
  • I don’t like _____.
  • I easily can ______ in something I ____
  •  I never thought, I would ___ after ______

My answers:

  • I have been learning many new things this week so if I start talking jibberish please forgive me.
  • I don’t like to leave the house without making my bed.
  • I easily can believe in something I have seen for myself.
  • I never thought I would ride on a school bus after I graduated from high school.

For real – another change? Lot’s of stuff happening in your household these days – hope they are all good ones. Funny, I saw the picture and though – I just uploaded a seagull to my Friday post, as well. Just the water/beach is slightly more chilly than yours – LOL
Really, you have to make the bed? I couldn’t care less about how it looks when I leave in the morning πŸ˜‰

Claudia, it’s not so much another change – it’s just that I’ll be starting work for real and not have training anymore! And yes, I HAVE to make our bed in the morning. I really don’t like coming home seeing the bed all messed up… πŸ™‚

    Great picture!
And tell me about this change at work – did I miss something there? What are you doing now?

Thanks. I love it too. I started a new job this week at my kids’ school and the change I’m referring to is going from training at our sister campus to starting work for real! I’m the new science lab assistant and will be in charge of the science lab! πŸ™‚

I never rode a school bus to school. We only used them for school trips. Love the picture. The seagulls in our area are hiding from the cold.

    • Susi January 10, 2014 at 1:10 pm

They are probably here, Judy! πŸ™‚ I had to take the bus for quite some time when I went to school here and then again as bus counselor for summer camp this past summer! πŸ™‚

  • Tami McCoy January 10, 2014 at 1:37 pm

I have no desire to ever ride on a schoolbus again.

    • Susi January 10, 2014 at 11:11 pm

Ha! It’s not so bad. πŸ™‚

  • Katrin January 10, 2014 at 2:53 pm

That’s great about the new job! Congratulations!

    Love the photo!

I’ll do the fill-ins on the statements:
I have been suffering through the polar vortex so if go nuts do to the warm weather I’m about to get, please forgive me!
    I don’t like being cold!
I easily can go overboard with something I have a real passion for.
I never thought, I would be connecting to people all over the US after I started a blog.

I love that photo! It is always great when we can capture an image just the way we wanted to. Ug, riding on a school bus is one part of my job I really don’t like. Fortunately it’s only a couple times per year.

    • Susi January 17, 2014 at 7:46 pm

Thanks, Karen. It is what it is and I only ride the school bus during summer camp since I’m a bus counselor!

That is an amazing picture!! wow. that is the castle in the background, right?
Well, I am finally back on line – a little too late to join Hilary, but next week I’ll be back.
Mostly, I am glad to be feeling quite a bit better tonight. Not quite 100%, but much better.

One good thing about having a shift worker spouse — I never have to make the bed; he’s usually in in when I am out of it. ha.

Leslie, yes, that is the castle in the background. Yeah, I would not make the bed either if that was the case. πŸ™‚
