lake sunset and clouds -edit

I took this photo on the way home from the store tonight. I couldn’t get over how pretty the sky looked as I was driving and had to pull over to get a shot. The whole time I was wishing I had my camera with me. I’m seriously wondering if I should just start keeping it with me at all times – sometimes I feel like there are so many missed opportunities and the phone just isn’t good enough. And this one just doesn’t do the beauty of the sky any justice.

Guys, can you believe I haven’t blogged all week? Most nights I was just too tired to do anything besides check Facebook and read a few blog posts. To those who stopped by and left me a lovely comment on my last post – thank you – so sorry I didn’t get back to you earlier… I do hope that as I get settled in, and the kids and I get used to the new hours, I will be able to find some more time to stick to my self-imposed “schedule”.

This week was all about taking over my new home away from home and finding my way around. Let me tell you, a science lab is a truly interesting place and so far I’m really enjoying my new job. I hate to admit it but I’m enjoying it more than any of my previous preschool jobs. I love the organizing and setting up and scheduling etc. And I cannot wait to start seeing some “action” and have the teachers’ bring their classes into the lab for the dissections and experiments. It’s also simply wonderful to know my kids are so close and to see them from time to time when I run across campus on an errand or another! Really, a dream come true! And as much as I never expected to be working in a Science lab, I love the challenge and being exposed to something new – I love to learn new skills and broaden my horizons.

Today, was conference day at school and a day off for all of us – I did have to attend the science department meeting to get introduced to some of the teachers I hadn’t met yet – it was short and sweet and afterwards I officially got to start our 4 day weekend. Unfortunately, our plans to attend the South Florida Fair tonight and have some fun, were put on hold when Ashley woke up with a fever, sore throat, and upset tummy this morning. Instead, it is a quiet evening in, watching JessieΒ on Netflix and just relaxing. Totally fine by me. I’d much rather sit and snuggle on the couch with a hot cup of tea by my side than freeze my bum off at the fairgrounds. I think, next weekend is supposed to be not quite as cold as these past few days have been. Talk about freezing… Check it out for yourselves by clicking here!!!

And just for the fun of it, a few pictures from a recent afternoon of fun with my girls…

Hope you guys have a great weekend! Stay warm!!!

even with the phone – that is a gorgeous, exceptional shot. the colours are amazing.
So excited for you about the new job. And to be close to the kids too.
I remember I burnt the floor of the science lab when I was in high school – can’t remember how, but it was exciting! ha I am sure you will do much better. Clearly Words, and not science are my strong-suit.
Sounds like I should say Stay Warm to you – my goodness. Save the oranges! LOL
Feel better soon to sweet girl.

Oh boy, I do hope that I won’t burn the floor and I’m doing some more training to avoid that!!! πŸ™‚ Yes, I’ll take the stay warm – a hot bath and now bundled in my big, fluffy robe are definitely helping! πŸ™‚

Despite your misgivings I like the shot, too. But you know I’m a sucker for great clouds and if you add a sunset or sunrise – chances are really high that I’m sold πŸ˜‰
Although I do know how you feel about not having your big camera with you all the time. I am so happy that the iPhone is taking such great photos, but just last week (my very own bday present) I got myself another Epiphanie camera bag. A tote and backpack in one and it absolutely looks like my normal, everyday tote. So, I am now going to take that as my everyday bag incl. the camera, but with the 50 mm lens only, cause I don’t want it too heavy. I’ll save that for a real photo trip.
Hope you keep enjoying your new job!

Claudia, I would totally love one of those camera bags. I may have to save up for one one of these days! And a 50 mmm lens is definitely on my list.

What a beautiful sunset! And the rock wall really makes it postcard worthy! It’s so awesome that you’re loving your new job, it’s such a blessing when you can enjoy what you do. Oh, and great heel stretch by your girl! πŸ™‚

Great pics! I definitely think you should bring your camera with you everywhere. I just got a new one for my birthday and I keep it in my purse at all times. I’ve been loving it!

    • Susi January 20, 2014 at 12:18 am

I’ll have to get a bigger purse if I want to schlepp my camera with me where ever I go – it’s pretty big and bulky. But I’m still considering it. πŸ™‚
