This is Ally with Odo, her new turtle buddy that she won at Sea Turtle Fest last weekend! She’s a lucky girl! πŸ™‚

Hi guys,

Do you remember me?

It’s been a while. So sorry for the silence – I love the German word Funkstille (radio silence) – it’s always in the back of my head when I think about my absence from my blog!!! I guess, that’s really the only negative part of working out of the house again.

I love my job, truly love it, much more so than when I was working at the preschool. I thought, I liked that job but it doesn’t even compare. There, I always felt a little on edge, wondering what administration was going to come up with next. They didn’t exactly treat their employees too nicely.

But now, I feel needed and appreciated and I enjoy all that I do. In a way, I’m everyone’s girl Friday, making sure things run smoothly for all the teachers, so that when they come into my lab with their students they can concentrate on the teaching part and not have to worry about finding supplies etc.

And of course, the bonus of seeing my kids at random times just makes it all that much sweeter! It’s been a wonderful two months and I’m looking forward to what the future may bring!

Okay, time to join Hilary for some Friday fun hop times!!!

The statements:

  1. This week I had to _____
  2. Honestly do you think ____ or _____
  3. Only the ____
  4. Β If I had ____ I would ____

My answers:

  1. This week I had to do a lot of work for the school’s Science Fair. I love that my job is so diverse, lots of different things going on!
  2. Honestly, do you think I should keep up with blogging (as little as it may be right now) or just let it go?
  3. Only the good die young!
  4. If I had the time and money I would fly to Germany to be there for my sister when she gives birth to my second niece in a few weeks!

I don’t think you should quit!!!
that might be a bit selfish though πŸ™‚
I know once I return to work, my blog will likely suffer a bit too. That’s why I am going full tilt and Gung Ho right now, and enjoying the season while it lasts.
If you are still enjoying doing it – and not feeling pressured – then I would say don’t give up something you love and enjoy.
Many blogs only post once or twice a week — some even less, and I am still thrilled to see them whenever they do.

Besides – your photography is beautiful! You will still need a place to show that off. πŸ™‚

Thanks for this! I do enjoy it and while I felt, I had to post when I first started working, now I look at it as a way to stay connected and share my life – not worrying about trying to eke out a living! πŸ™‚ And yes, I need a place to share my pics. πŸ™‚

I don’t think you should quit either. YOu just don’t have to blog often. But i think if you gave it up you’d miss it.

Hilary, I think, you are right. I would miss it!!! πŸ™‚

That is a definite ‘NO’ to you quitting blogging. 1) you’re having too much fun at it 2) you need a place to show your photos 3) I would miss you and 4) you would probably miss us too – hahaha – enough reasons?
Seriously, just give it time and do not pressure yourself. I know I said it before, but when I started my job a year ago I felt like giving up ImagesByCW, because I had no time. But over time, I made time. Not as much as before obviously, but still time.

You bet I would miss you! Good thing we have social media – but the blog really is the hub and I would miss it terribly!

Um, is that even a question? Of course you should keep up with blogging – I want to hear how you are doing, even if it’s only once a week or every few weeks πŸ™‚
So happy that you love your job!

    • Susi March 8, 2014 at 11:50 pm

Thanks, Kerstin! And yes, from time to time my thoughts stray in that direction but then I realize that it’s become too much a part of my life to give up completely.
