Paintball, early wake up calls, and tulips… {Snapshot Sunday}

April 27, 2014

Here I sit on the couch at 10 pm on Sunday night and finally have some time to finish up this post. I started uploading and setting up all the Instagram pics last night and had planned on writing some blurbs about each one earlier today. But it was not to be… The day had a mind of it’s own and here I am.

On Monday, still a day off for us, the boy and some friends met up for some fun on the paintball fields. The girls and I drove up with the mom of the boy’s best friend and we hung out to watch the big kids wage their battles. It was fun to watch and I really hope that next time we go, I get to follow behind with my camera… looking forward to getting some up close and personal shots without the net in the way.

Tuesday night, middle lounged in bed with me – I ended up going to bed early because I wasn’t feeling well at all, bad headache that wouldn’t go away and just feeling generally ill – and she decided she needed to stretch and show off how flexible she is! I’m pretty amazed by it, as I was never able to do that – ever!

No pics on Wednesday, busy day and still not feeling one hundred percent…

Thursday, this shot for throwback Thursday. Me, at about two years of age. Only one of the few pics remaining from when I was little, since my darling sister destroyed both of our baby books when she was a toddler. You know, how they say, silence is not necessarily a good thing when it comes to toddlers? Yeah, that!

Thursday night, I tried to go to bed a bit earlier that usual because of this – my alarm set to way before my usual wake up time because middle had to be at school super early for her field trip to Epcot!

Friday, on my second drive to work, the sky decided to smile on us and look extra pretty. Just love the way the sun is peeking through the clouds.

And later hubby stopped by work and surprised me with these pretty tulips. They made my “office” smell so good and put a big smile on my face. It’s the little things! 🙂

Middle daughter brought back this cute Mickey ear hat… the German flag, a pretzel and Lederhosen – just adorable and perfect!

Saturday, I took little one to her friend’s birthday party at a martial arts place and she was the first to break the board. You should have heard the screeching, it was way loud but oh so joyful!

And later on, because it was Saturday and hot, a little evening jump and swim – just the girls.

Sunday, today, we spent mostly in or by the pool relaxing and swimming and enjoying this beautiful day! I even joined in on the fun and went for my first swim of the season, the water felt great and really enjoyed getting some labs in.

Smiling faces all around! What more can you ask for?

Have a wonderful week, everyone!!!

Katrin, I’ve never played myself either, just watched the boy and his friends. I much prefer to “shoot” with my camera!!! 🙂

Looks like a great, action-filled week!

    • Susi April 28, 2014 at 11:01 pm

Yup, action packed for sure but luckily not too crazy busy – I never like those weeks! 🙂

I’m glad your headache went away eventually and your week ended great!
    And those tulips? LOVE!

    • Susi April 28, 2014 at 10:59 pm

I can’t look at my tulips enough – they are just so pretty. I’m glad the headache went away too and we were able to enjoy ourselves. It’s never any fun when the mommy doesn’t feel like herself! 🙂

You’re are so cute in that picture!! Oh my gosh – totally see where your girls get such loveliness from!

I think I will have to add paintball to my bucket list. It looks like such fun.
And it would be fun to get the kids to help me gang up on daddy. (although, he is a sharp shooter, so that may not end well for us. ha)

And Yeah for Pool Days here again! That looks so inviting – even though it’s not quite hot enough yet up here to make me want to swim. Today was our warmest thus far and that meant garden work. No play yet.
    but soon 🙂

Thank you! And the paintballing does look like fun – the kids sure had a blast. I’m not sure we would fare very good in a fight against the hubby – he used to be a competition shooter and a good one at that. So maybe we leave the men at home and just have some fun with the kids!!! 😉

OooOOoo paintballs. I’ve always wanted to try that but I’m too chicken!
That picture of you is so adorable. It is hilarious finding old pics of myself and question my mother’s ability to parent…because who gives there daughter a mullet. Don’t tell anyone that!

    • Susi April 29, 2014 at 10:13 pm

He he he. Must have been a thing back then, I can remember mullet like haircuts too. 🙂
