Filling in 4 blanks and other things

May 24, 2014

It’s Friday  Saturday. The Friday before Saturday of a long holiday weekend no less. And the weather is absolutely gorgeous. So looking forward to this weekend…

It should be fun and relaxing and much less worrisome than last weekend!!! I think, today, besides getting some groceries, we’ll sit by the pool and enjoy the sunshine.

I was going to publish this yesterday, I really was but then got side tracked and never finished the post. So, here I am on this fine Saturday morning, with a cup of coffee by my side, trying to finish up.

This week ended a lot better than it started. On Monday we were still worried about middle and her mono diagnosis.

Tuesday, I took the day off from work to take her back to the doctor and ended up getting an ultrasound to make sure her spleen wasn’t enlarged.

Wednesday, she went back to school with physical restriction and we got word that her sonogram was normal.

By Thursday she was feeling a lot better and some of her energy has definitely returned. Now we have the hard job of telling her to slow down and relax and not over-do… It’s not so easy to make her understand that even though she’s feeling better she still has to take it easy so she doesn’t relapse. But I’m sure her body will let her know when it’s too much.

On Wednesday and Thursday, I had the 8th graders in the lab doing tie-dye as an end-of-year “experiment” — they had a lot of fun but it was a lot of work for me — I didn’t realize all the prep that goes into doing a proper tie-dye… When I was cleaning up, I noticed some unintentional tie-dye art on the underpads we used to let the shirts sit on overnight before rinsing them the next day.

The photographer in me had to snap a few pictures and then edit the shots and this is what I came up with… What do you think?

And now here’s this:

You know the deal and if not, go head over to Hilary’s so you can see what she has to say about Follow Friday Four Fill in Fun!!!

The statements:

  1.  ___________gives_____________________
  2.   I heard _____________ prevents _____________
  3. I wish ______________
  4. My ____ color is _____ it make me feel _____

My answers:

  1. My mom gives me the best make-up stuff – one of the perks of working for Estée Lauder.
  2. I heard drinking at least 4 cups of coffee a day prevents uterine cancer in women – it’s supposed to lower the risk by about 25%.
  3. I wish everyone a wonderful holiday weekend!
  4. My favorite color is blue it makes me feel happy. (Is it any wonder – just look at the cloudless blue sky we have today in South Florida — gorgeous!)

Estee Lauder?! Niiiiiice!!! I’m glad to hear that middle is feeling so much better. I like the looks of the tie dye, then again, as you know I love abstracts and a lot of color, next to black & white – LOL – that does not seem to make a lot of sense. You have a wonderful long weekend!
And now off to my 3rd cup of coffee 🙂

Enjoy that coffee!!! And thanks!!! Hope you have a great weekend too. 🙂

Mono? Damn, I hope she takes it easy and won’t relapse. I think it takes a while, right?
Love the picture 🙂 And long weekends are the best, we had ours last weekend and I’m already looking forward to Canada Day 😀

Mono does take a while but she seems to be really perking up the last few days. Her test results came back kinda weird too – they showed she had it weeks ago. I’m keeping my eyes on her but tryig not to be over-protective. Right now I’m sitting outside watching the girls splash in the pool. Waiting for the sun to come back out behind the clouds so I can jump in too. 🙂

Coffee is a blessing and a curse. It helps somethings while making others worse. Moderation is usually a good idea. I love Estee Lauder perfumes. Have a great weekend!

Thanks, you too!!! I feel the same way about coffee. I usually keep it to two cups in the morning and then switch to tea later in the day…

So glad to hear she is feeling a bit better and the tests results are good!!

Love the tie dye. I remember doing that in school – it was a lot of fun. And the patterns are always just beautiful. I think we need to start wearing more tie dye. It’s so happy. 🙂

4 cups a day! I can do that. LOL

Have a wonderful holiday weekend and hopefully we will see some lovely pics of that gorgeous blue sky next week!

I’m really glad she’s feeling better too. The worry is always such an emotional drain… And I agree, we should definitely wear more tie dye – I told the kids each of their designs was unique and their’s alone!

I think I will never feel bad about drinking lots of coffee again. Have a great weekend!

There’s good and bad in everything we do – and this is definitely a good thing. 🙂

Will tea do? I do not like coffee…except in brownies and ice cream.

    • Susi May 25, 2014 at 11:19 pm

I’m not sure if tea has the same effect as coffee as it’s mentioned in the study. But it will do for me. I love tea — all kinds! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
