Feeling appreciated, morning light and fill ins

June 5, 2014

“Gratitude is the music of the heart, when its chords are swept by the breeze of kindness.” ~Author Unknown

Today, I received a few gifts from all of the teachers in the science department. These were all very unexpected and because of this make the receiving of them so much more special. But even nicer than the multitude of gifts were the words that came in the cards. I love my job, I really do, even on the busy days but knowing that what I do is appreciated by the people I work with the most makes it all so much better. I’m happy to let you guys know that I will be returning to my position after summer camp! So so happy my contract got renewed!!! πŸ™‚

I only have tea with honey when I am sick…. it is quite tasty though…

    • Susi June 6, 2014 at 10:54 pm

I know lots of people that do that. Honey is actually very good for you and helps prevent getting sick too. πŸ™‚

D H and I are on a honey kick because it is supposed to be better for your heart health. I like honey and cinnamon on toast.

    • Susi June 6, 2014 at 10:53 pm

Love, love, love honey on toast. I haven’t tried it with cinnamon. πŸ™‚

Yay, for summertime! I am so very glad it’s here!! (I teach too, in higher ed)

I said I was neutral about sports except my team, Texas Aggies, but we love the World Cup too, and can’t wait for it to get here!

tea with honey has become my night time beverage too. And I tried that rooibos kind that you had talked about before: very nice!

So nice to receive some appreciation gifts. My kids teachers ask us not too and instead make a charitable donation. I guess after so many years they get enough coffee mugs. ha.
    Congrats on the contract renewal.

    • Susi June 6, 2014 at 10:51 pm

Thanks! And I actually got the gifts from the teachers on my team – so it was extra special. And yes, rooibus with honey is still my go-to night time tea. πŸ™‚

You must have a good work environment…your co-workers are very thoughtful. Like the catkid! For me tea, with or without honey, is best in the morning and wine in the evening.

    • Susi June 9, 2014 at 10:43 pm

Patricia, you are right, it is a good work environment. This is certainly the happiest I’ve been at a job! And I’m definitely more of a coffee person in the AM. πŸ™‚

  • Janice June 9, 2014 at 7:05 pm

Tea is definitely better with honey! Lots!
And how wonderful the sentiments your co-workers gave you. It’s truly nice to be appreciated in words once in a while. πŸ™‚

Love your appreciation gifts, so nice…
Really, you think German chocolate is the best one?! With one exception, I don’t think so. I would prefer Swiss or Belgian πŸ˜‰

    • Susi June 15, 2014 at 11:13 pm

I love Milka and KinderSchokolade! But yes, Swiss chocolate is pretty divine.
