Holiday parties and fill in fun…

December 18, 2014

Last Saturday, hubby and I went to his company Christmas party and it was pretty nice to be out and about among adults. We look pretty spiffy, don’t we? Especially since my darling husband didn’t inform me that the party had a 1920’s theme until 9 am that morning. How lucky did I get that I found that dress at the first store middle and went to! It was clearly meant to be! 🙂

Yesterday, little one’s Kindergarten class had a little holiday celebration before the end of the semester. They decorated cookies, painted ornaments and made hot chocolate mixes. It was another successful party in my eyes. I really enjoy this group of kids and parents, much more so than my older two’s. Maybe it’s because I kind of know what to expect now or because little one is with the same kids she was with last year and will most likely stay with for a while. There are also other staff parents that I get along with great. It really is one big, mostly happy family! Regardless of why, I love it.

Woohoo! People, I’m officially on Winter break, as off about 3 hours ago. For the next two weeks, work is off the table and relaxing is the name of the game… Along with getting a few things accomplished that have been put off for far too long. Like you know, getting the roof fixed, and some other things that need to be done around the house. No rest for the wicked! But it’s all good.

Now, let’s get to some fill in fun with Hilary and see what answers I come up with today.

The statements

I would never____

Do you always______

______ is my favorite holiday

Realizing______ makes me______

My answers:

  1.  I would never say never. You just never know!
  2. Do you always say what you mean and mean what you say?
  3. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It marks the start of the holiday season, family and friends get together but no gift giving is expected!
  4. Realizing how fast my kids are growing up makes me feel sad. (You didn’t think I would say old, did you?) 🙂

What have you realized lately, and how does it make you feel? I’d love to know how you would answer these questions. So leave a comment or better yet, play along!

Feeling Beachie

Have a wonderful weekend!

I totally understand what you mean about being sad as your children grow. It’s quite a journey to see them from infant to grown men/women. It’s strange in a way… you love who they have become but also remember them fondly as the little person who melted your heart. One positive aspect of blogging is looking back at all the lovely memories and knowing that your kids will too.
    Merry Christmas!

Tami, yes, that it is exactly. And that is one of the reasons I keep blogging and sharing all the little things we do. 🙂

Oh I was looking at pictures from a while ago and it made me realize that time is definitely going by too quickly and my kids are growing up too fast. Made me a little sad too. And a little nervous about the future!

I try not too look too far ahead into the future and worry. Things have a way of working themselves out and our babies will find their way eventually.

wooo-hoooo….. look at you two!! I love that it was a 20s theme. very cool.
My littlest had her school holiday party too, and now between her any my middle girl: this house is drowning in paper holiday crafts!! you name the hand-made decoration, and I think I got it. LOL
but, they also did baking this year so I got a whole box of treats that came home! good thing I’ve kept up my workouts.
Hope you find lots of time to relax during your time off.

I have to say, I got some super cute holiday decorations this year. Little One made the cutest little snowflake ornament out of Popsicle sticks and buttons. And a few others that yes, are made of paper! I actually need to pick up push pins or something so I can hang them.

Men! Always the same. That could have been David from a little while back. I tend to think that he learnt a little about ‘important things’ by now – LOL.
Oh my gosh, we got the same #1 – hahaha – and #3, too 🙂

That seems to be the way with us. We often have things in common… 🙂 I can just imagine us sitting in a coffee shop somewhere, or maybe on the beach under Palm trees and talking for hours!!!
