Oh my! How far away were you? What lens? I would definitely not want to go close to water let alone swimming anywhere there

I was on a boardwalk not too far away and used my new Tamron 18-200mm lens. Believe me, I won’t get too close to them. There is a nature preserve nearby where they swim in the canals right next to the trails… No fences. But the canals are steep and they wouldn’t be able to come up the sides – not that I would test that theory! ๐Ÿ™‚

oh my goodness he’s ginormous! definitely pulling out the zoom lens for that shot.
but he’s gorgeous too. what a thrill to see them so close, but still wild and free.
I mean, as long as he is not in your pool or anything. ๐Ÿ™‚

Exactly, Leslie. Occasionally we get one in the lakes in my neighborhood and so far they have never bothered anyone. It’s pretty amazing to see them like this.

Wow – that looks scary. But I guess being that close to a bear or cougar is scary as well ๐Ÿ˜‰
