22/365 Sleepy Boy

sleepy boy

My son is a bit of a bear in the morning. He loves to stay up late and would prefer to sleep in every morning, instead of getting up at the butt crack of dawn. Just like his mama!!! I guess, we are both night owls. Unlike him though, I try to go to bed at a decent time each night because I know that if I don’t get at least 7 hours of sleep, I’m a mess the next day. 8 would be perfect, 6 will usually do and 7 is the magic number most nights. My boy, however, rarely listens to me when I advise him to turn off his lights and get some shut eye. So most mornings, he sits next to me in the car, music blasting in his headphones and snores coming out of his mouth, to catch just a few more zzz’s before we get to school. This morning when I was helping middle daughter with her science fair project, we found him like this, waiting for their morning meeting to start. He never realized that I took this picture…

How many hours of sleep do you try to get each night? Are you a night owl or an early bird?

I want to be a night owl – but I usually crash between 10 and 11…. and I do get up just after 6 πŸ™‚ My husband and I have this ongoing joke that we’re gonna stay up until midnight – because we’re adults and we can – but it usually does not happen πŸ˜‰

Ha ha ha! That sounds familiar. I’m usually passed out by midnight… I can’t even imagine being up until the wee hours of the morning anymore. πŸ™‚

Hahaha – has he found out about the picture yet?!
There are times when you can see me like this at my desk at work, although it is mostly when I don’t or am trying to understand people…

Yes, he has found out and is not too mad about. Luckily! πŸ™‚ I can totally see you doing that, only because I’ve been there, done that! πŸ˜‰

The fact that I am typing this at 1:2o am pretty much answers your question πŸ™‚ but since I am a grown up I get to drink loads of coffee to make sure nobody takes photos of me like that ha ha

    your son is me.
totally a night owl — as my midnight blog commenting can attest. And I will probably have a bath after a few more blogs are visited, so around 1:30 am perhaps to bed? And then up by 7:30 am to get the kids off to school.
but, I can go back to bed for an hour nap during the day if I want to. Although I don’t because I tend to get interrupted by the phone, the door…. Facebook notifications. LOL
I always get woke up by one of the kids in the night, or hubby coming home or leaving for work at odd hours. honestly, my sleep patterns are such a mess right now. it’s awful

I’m sure you have funky sleep patterns with the hours your hubby works. Add to that the kids and you can forget getting any sleep. You really should try to take a 20 minute power nap each day. I used to do that before I started working and the kids switched schools… It made a huge difference!!!
