This morning as I was enjoying my first cup of coffee and scrolling through Facebook, my monthly blogging savior popped up – Old School blogging from Elaine at The Miss Elaine-ous Life with her co-host for this month, Emmy of emmyMom. I’ve said it time and again, my blogging is basically non-existent these days except for my (mostly) daily post for my Project 365, so when Elaine’s post pops up in my feed each month I get excited to tag along and answer some questions, and have an actual post of some sort up.
First, here are the pics for my last two days of photo a day.
Little One often plays with my phone and loves to “surprise” me with a million selfies in my photo stream. This is one of them…
On the way to work yesterday morning… I love seeing the morning sky and when there are clouds with the sun only peeking out a bit, it’s even better.
Here are my 12 answers to the 12 Old School Blogging questions.
1. Are you young at heart or an old soul?
I would say I’m young at heart but have my old soul moments.
2. Tell me about a movie/book that has changed your life.
I’m not sure if any movie or book have changed my life but there are many that have made an impact. The one I read most recently and just finished a week or so ago was She Is Mine by Stephanie Fast. I still don’t have the words to describe how this book made me feel. It’s heart-breaking and powerful.
3. Would you like to reconnect with any friends you’ve lost contact with?
I feel that this is always a double-edged sword. There is a reason why you fall out of touch with people. Life moves on. And things are never quite the same as they were when you were friends. I did reconnect with a lot of childhood and school friends from Germany through Facebook and that’s been great. I’ve even seen one or two of them here in Florida when they came for vacation.
4. Where was your favorite place to go when you were a little kid?
My grandma’s house. My sister and I were there most weekends and vacations. Also, later on, my uncle and aunts house. I loved being there and helping with my cousin when she was a baby.
5. Do you enjoy being with only one or two friends, or with a large group of people?
Definitely one or two friends. I’m not big on huge, loud parties. Not at all.
6. What’s your “quirkiest” habit?
Oh boy, I probably have more than one if you ask my family. But it’s definitely close to what Elaine herself said. I like to move things around to make the house look less cluttered. Just today I made my poor husband help me rearrange his music room…
7. What part of the past year sticks out in your mind?
The first thing that popped into my mind after reading this question is – robotics. It’s become a huge part of my daily life. This coming week, I will help chaperone our school’s robotics competition team at the FIRST World Championship in St. Louis. I went from helping a little with paperwork to team mom and mentor.
8. What do you use more often: your intuition or logical reasoning?
My intuition. Definitely. My husband is the logical one.
9. Where is your favorite place to go out and eat?
I like places where I can sit outside, even better when it’s by the water – intracoastal, ocean or lake. My favorite local restaurant though is Yakitori Sake House. I wrote about it here.
10. What was the last song that was stuck in your head?
Sugar by Maroon 5. I have their album V on repeat. Love it so so much.
What is your ethnic heritage?
I’m sure that most of you know I come from the land of pretzels, bratwurst and sauerkraut!!! 🙂
12. Give me the story of your life in six words.
Florida gal. Born German. Made American.
Thanks, Elaine for coming to my rescue once again…
Ok guys, your turn. I’d love to know your answers so why don’t you play along!
Have a great weekend!!!
