Yesterday, heaven gained an angel. An angel my kids considered an honorary grandma. Bissa was our neighbor… Only so much more. Before I started working full-time, I saw her daily – for a cup of coffee, to take her to the store or for doctors appointment. She took us in and never forgot the kids on holidays. We spent holidays with her and her family. I took care of her and she took care of me. She loved hearing me talk about my blogging adventures and the people I “met” online. We swapped stories, her’s growing up in New York, mine growing up in East Germany. We cried together when she lost her daughter to ovarian cancer and I, unexpectedly my grandma. We laughed and watched the kids grow together. The day we brought out little one home from the hospital we didn’t go to our house, we went to her’s… I could go on and on. She became a huge part of our lives and we will miss her terribly.
Rest in peace, Bissa. We love you!!!
The robot is shipped. The trailer packed and on its way to St. Louis. We are checked in and have boarding passes in hand. Paperwork is completed. Bags packed. We have a bright and early start tomorrow for our trip to the First Robotics World Championship! It’s been such a crazy 4 months and I can’t believe I ge to be part of it.
Oh, and we decided to take little one as our mascot! 😉
