I still haven’t managed to post my weekly recaps on Sundays, like I intended. I hope to, eventually…
Here’s is last week’s recap.
Monday – Day 215:
This little cutie pie was super excited to show off her new boots. She saw them at Tarjay on a previous trip and really, really, really wanted them. I decided to surprise her. Boy, oh boy, was it the best one ever. She actually started crying because she was sooooo happy that I got them for her. Goes to show you, that sometimes, the little things do matter. She wore the boots to camp every day that week. I don’t know how she did it with the soaring temperatures we’ve been dealing with but there was no dissuading her. I still smile thinking about it. It made me happy to see her so beyond thrilled. 🙂
Tuesday – Day 216:
Sometimes, you need to follow your heart, or your stomach in this case, and cook up some comfort food, even if the temps are soaring near the 100° Fahrenheit mark. A little baked chicken, with some homemade challah stuffing sure was wha the doctor ordered! Yum!!!
Wednesday – Day 217:
Little girl. Little dog. Perfect walking companions. Need I say more?
Thursday – Day 218:
Oh, that view. This was on our last camp field trip for the summer. The water was choppy, with the waves lapping on shore, along with a rather pleasant breeze. The combination made for some beautiful action on the rocks. I could have sat there for hours and just watched but, alas, I had a few campers to keep my eyes on and a stretch of beach to clean up. Amazing how much trash you find on a small stretch of beach.
Friday – Day 219:
A little macro action to capture this lady bug. There were many more where this one came from – the mint leaves growing in our school’s aquaponics system. I had noticed the day before that something was wrong with it. I thought, I had it fixed but when I went to check on it again on Friday, I realized that it was still not working the way it should. I called my colleague and friend to see what I should do, she told me she was coming to school to take a look and we both ended up fixing it… By pulling out the overgrown mint. The root system had gotten so big and tight that it interrupted the water flow of the aquaponics system and that’s why it wasn’t working. It was hot, messy work but I loved seeing all the lady bugs.
Saturday – Day 220:
This made me stop the car, much to the boy’s dismay. But how could I not? The sun was that perfect ball in the middle of the sky, and clouds were hovering, ready to release some rain. I can’t resist that view… And I can assure you there will be more car stopping in the future. 😉
Sunday – Day 221:
Sunday, the three of us went for haircuts – middle for a little trim, little one opted for more shock value and had almost 10 inches cut off which we donated to Children with Hair Loss and I had a little trim too. You may have noticed that I’ve been letting my hair grow out a little. I’ve been feeling like a little change… so far so good.
Today is Wednesday, and I’ve spent the last three days cleaning, scrubbing, dusting etc. For one, in preparation of my cousin and her boyfriend coming tomorrow to stay with us for a few days before they fly back to Germany and for two, because it had to be done. So much gets left undone or is done less thorough when I work and this was my only chance to get some things accomplished… if only it would stay this way. But we all know that’s wishful thinking. I’m at the point where I’m seriously considering getting some help and having a cleaning lady come in every other week or so. Anyhoo, I hope you are enjoying the last days of summer if you are still on break. If not, good luck to you and the kiddos for another successful school year! And for those of you, who don’t live by the school calendar, keep on carrying on!!! 🙂
