Project 365: Day 222 – Day 235 {biweekly recap}

August 25, 2015

Day 222 {Monday}:

A pretty sunset always makes our evening walks even more pleasant. I loved the soft colors that evening.

day 222

Day 223 {Tuesday}:

The sky often looks like the world is coming to an end during the summer months. It looked pretty ominous from where we were sitting. But we made it home before the sky opened up.

Day 224 {Wednesday}:

Pool time is fun time. We haven’t had nearly enough of that this summer. By the time we got home from camp it was usually time for the afternoon thunderstorms, not a good time to go swimming.

Day 225 {Thursday}:

I love seeing my girls enjoy nature. Here they looked at caterpillars and explored the butterfly garden while we were out and about showing my cousin and her boyfriend around.

Day 226 {Friday}:

Still not exactly the shot I’ve been trying to get but it’s better than not catching a butterfly at all.

Day 227 {Saturday}:

Every once in a while I enjoy a nice, cold glass of beer. This one was pretty delicious and refreshing.

Day 228 {Sunday}:

To celebrate the end of summer, and my cousin’s visit from Germany, hubby put on a seafood boil. It was delicious and loved by all who came and enjoyed the afternoon with us.

Day 229 {Monday}:

I finally managed to visit this place, Blowing Rocks Preserve, on my own time and with family in tow. My cousin and her boyfriend loved it and Ally had so much fun exploring… until she fell on some rocks and sliced her toe open a bit. Luckily, the damage was minimal and we could get back to admiring the view and checking out the creatures living in the tide pools. So much fun!!! And an awesome way to spend my last day of “summer” before heading back to work for a new school year.

Day 230 {Tuesday}:

Walking our pooch and taking two extra friends along. All while enjoying this view. Really, you may be getting tired of seeing these types of pictures in all my feeds but I am not and will continue to take them. Just keep scrolling if it’s too much for you! 🙂

Day 231 {Wednesday}:

Leading lines. I’m not too fond of these power lines running through our neighborhood but they sure make for interesting focal points in photography.

Day 232 {Thursday}:

Still not tired of this.

Day 233 {Friday}:

Friday night lights. It’s that time of year again where you’ll see me sitting in the bleachers for our home football games. I still don’t understand the game all too well but I love the atmosphere and seeing the kids play and hang with their friends. Starting with the next home game, Ashley will be performing during half-time with the dance team. I can’t wait to see her and burst with pride 🙂

Day 234 {Saturday}: Ash and I dropped of her brother at a birthday party on Saturday and decided that instead of driving back and forth, we would stay and go grocery shopping at the near-by Publix. But we had some time to kill and popped into a nail salon and each got a manicure, followed by a quick lunch of sushi. It was great to have that time to ourselves.

Day 235 {Sunday}:

Sunday was for last minute errands and prepping for the first day of school for my gang. Ash and I had to stop at the pet store for some rat food. I couldn’t stop looking at this cute bearded dragon. I’m going to get him within the next week or two to add to my ever growing menagerie at the lab. His name will be Spike. 🙂

So there you have it. My last two weeks in pictures. It’s been crazy busy and promises to continue to be. Starting next week I’m going to run a after school FIRST Lego League club in addition to my duties as a science lab coordinator and robotics lab/program assistant. I still shake my head in wonder at how  my life has changed the past few years and I couldn’t be happier.

I hope you are all doing good!

xoxo, Susi

You are one busy beaver, Susi. I hope life slows down a little for you. Then again, you seem to be enjoying it 🙂
The leading lines sure are interesting. But Day #232 – THAT is my kind of sunset photo with the reflection.
    Enjoy your day!

Thanks. I am busy and I am enjoying it for the most part… Some days are better then others for sure but overall I couldn’t wish for anything better to have come into my life when I got the job at the kids school. It’s been an adventure for sure. And yes, sunsets and reflections are a thing of beauty. 🙂

I will never ever tire of seeing those beautiful sunsets!! I am always in the house getting kids ready for bed when it’s that time up here… and I barely have a chance to glance out the window and see the sky change over the tree tops. I live vicariously through your amazing shots!
ha – I just realized we have no power lines in our neighborhood. they’re underground! I guess that may be why we rarely lose power in a storm.
Sounds like an exciting new club you are starting. My son would love a Lego club!

    • Susi August 26, 2015 at 9:45 pm

The club is the precursor to our robotics club since it’s Lego robots we are building and coding. Really cool stuff.
I wish our power lines were underground… Especially with the possible hurricane heading our way. Fingers crossed we won’t get hit too hard.
