Project 365: Day 243 – Day 249 {weekly recap}

September 6, 2015

This week was a bit crazy with Ally missing a whole week of school because of a nasty virus that left her on the couch sleeping most of the day, barely eating or drinking anything. For the first few days she had a super high fever, which tapered off to manageable but still high enough to make her miserable. She really only started eating again yesterday… Between hubby and I switching days at work, we managed and made it through the week somehow.

Day 243: Monday. One of the worst days for her. Her fever was at 104 late in the afternoon and she was barely moving. So lethargic. Worried doesn’t begin to explain how I felt.

Day 244: Tuesday. Ashley with Joey. I love this photo. One of many I took that afternoon. We love us a nice photo session with the pooches.

Day 245: Wednesday. On our walk Wednesday afternoon things got a little weird. There were so many birds. Flying back and forth over the lake and back to the trees. I’d like to say they realized the afternoon storm was on the way but it was clear out and we never got one that evening.

Day 246: Thursday. I love that my co-worker and friend shares my love for tea, specifically Rooibus tea. Ever since her recent trip to South Africa, she is into it as much as I am. So now we share different types and flavors whenever we try something new. She ordered this chocolate flavored Rooibus and it’s so very good and delicious. Perfect for an afternoon treat! 🙂

Day 247: Friday. What’s better than flowers? It’s flowers that arrive as a surprise and are given just because. Love this bouquet hubby picked out for me and had delivered to the house on Friday. I was home with all three kids… They were all in various stages of illness and I just couldn’t take it anymore and “gave” them all a day off. I really hope that a long weekend of rest will do everyone good.

Day 248: Saturday. It’s that time of year again. Pop-up Halloween stores are popping up on every corner and my girls will drag me into each and every one of them to find the perfect Halloween costume. Only Ashley would pose with this ghoulish creature. Ally was having none of it.
Day 249: Sunday. I was the first one up this morning and I decided to enjoy the quiet sitting by the pool and sipping my coffee in peace. It was glorious. Once Ally was up, we took a dip in the pool before heading out to lunch and after to a friend’s house for a little Labor Day BBQ. It was a pretty perfect day…

I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend, at least those of you who get the day off.

xoxo, Susi

Gosh, I hope Ally (and everyone else) has left that virus behind for good. Sounds like no fun at all. And those birds, I think they might have freaked me out.
I hope you got to enjoy the long Labor Day weekend!

Thanks. Everyone is on the mend. And I’m thankful for it. The weekend was good – much needed!

wow – I do hope that everyone is back on the mend and life is back to normal. it’s so hard when your littles are sick…. even when it’s my 11 year old “big” boy, mama’s heart still gets that tightness whenever they are not well.
I always say the animals and birds know when something is up — if they are all flying in a particular direction; you should probably go that way too! ha.

We all made it through the week and no one has gotten sick again. I hoe it stays that way. I feel the same when mine get sick. It’s so much harder now that I’m working – before I could take care of them and not worry about missing work. The birds weren’t flying in any direction particularly – more in circles. Round and round and round. I tell you it was eery.

I’m glad Ally is feeling better – poor kid! we had the swarm of birds yesterday – so weird…

Just realized I never answered you… so sorry. Ally was better but now has a runny nose, as does Ashley. I swear that school is germ machine. I’m hoping it doesn’t turn into more.

Guess it’s that time of year where birds do weird things. 😉 Ally is all better from that part of her virus but has a nasty runny nose now. She feels ok but her nose is all red from blowing it so much. 🙁
