Here’s another one… {Follow Friday Four Fill in Fun}

This little guy is a hand carved “Räuchermännchen” from Germany. You put a small incense cone inside of him and as it burns, it looks like he’s smoking. One of my favorite little Christmas decorations. 🙂

Okay, you know the deal – Each week, Hilary lists four statements with a blank for us to fill in on your own blogs. If you want to join the fun and come up with four fill in’s of your own, please email them to her at .

If she uses them, she will add you as co-host to the hop! SHE REALLY NEEDS STATEMENTS! This week’s co-host is ELIZABETH from SILVER’S BOOK REVIEWS. She came up with ALL THE statements.

The statements:

  1. Try to_____ whenever you can
  2. Books are_______.
  3. Last week, I_______.
  4. Later in life, I_________.

My answers:

  1. Try to enjoy the little things whenever you can.
  2. Books are amazing.
  3. Last week, I was really stressed out at work. Have you helped students prepare paperwork for a county science fair?
  4. Later in life, I want to work or volunteer at a nature preserve and give tours to kids.

Feeling Beachie
Have a great weekend! The hubby and I are heading to my school’s holiday party this evening and then I’m hoping for a snuggly weekend at home. It’s supposed to be rainy the whole time. So some baking and hot chocolate may be in our future. 🙂

Thank you! And thanks for stopping by. 🙂

LOVE your #1. Little things mean a lot.

I retired from teaching, but I never did have to prepare students for a county science fair, but I did have to prepare them for business competitions.

    ENJOY your weekend.

I’m sure those business competitions were no walk in the park. Our issue is mostly the paperwork. Our county likes lots of it…

I love your little incense burner! How cute is he? Perfect for the holidays and I hope your weekend is restful and filled with family!

Thanks. Yes, he is cute and he has a special place in my heart. Wishing you a relaxing weekend as well! 🙂

I love that little “Räuchermännchen” I have a very close elderly friend who is from Germany. He used to go back to visit often. He came here at age 16, became a citizen, and served 30 years in the U.S. Navy as an officer. It is fun to talk to him about his Germany memories.
Thanks for sharing yours, too. Happy holidays!

I came here at 16 too. Got my citizenship about 4 years ago but have not served in the Navy.

such a cute xmas decoration indeed…And I love the traditional one like this 🙂

    • Susi December 9, 2015 at 2:23 pm

I like the traditional ones the most too, they remind me of my childhood and Christmas in Germany. 🙂

Awww, the ‘Räuchermännchen’ and I say your Christmas pyramid, too. I haven’t decorated yet, no time with the Treelighting and our game development. Yep, it is continuing 🙂
Enjoying little things is great. I feel sometimes they are more enjoyable than the big (and expensive) things. I hope you have recuperated from last week’s stress.
    Have a great weekend.

I feel the same way about the little things. I think, I enjoy them more because they usually just happen. Big things have a way of causing work and sometimes stress. The most major stress for now is over… and I can finally breathe easy. 🙂

I’m trying to enjoy the little things but the stress keeps getting in the way

    • Susi December 9, 2015 at 2:19 pm

I hear you. It’s hard to relax sometimes and let yourself enjoy those little things when stress seems to make itself at home. But that’s when it’s most important to say STOP, take a breath and enjoy…

Yes – the little things!! Altogether they will make up a Big Life! 🙂
I was a bit stressed last week trying to do the Christmas crafts with my girl scout group. I am NOT a crafter. At all. I think we managed though. I have the burnt finger tips courtesy of the glue gun to prove the effort put in. LOL
Hope you get that nice peaceful weekend with some hot chocolate on the side.

I like the way you put that and I whole heartedly agree with that. My major stress is over for now and it’s time to breathe easy again — science fair always keeps me on my toes and at the edge of my seat.
