One good thing… {my project 365, day 24 to day 31}

January 31, 2016

January is over. Already. It felt like it flew by. Time, always moving, moving, moving… That’s why I’m happy I decided to do another project 365 this year. It helps me stop each day and look back each week to what was and hold on to the memories. As I told you in last weekend’s post, this year I’m using a theme of sorts and my friends’ Claudia and Leslie have graciously accepted my plea for help. The three of us will host a link-up each week (Mondays) where we share our #onegoodthing. It can be a photo, a collage, a poem, an anecdote, anything that you want to share that was good that day, week, month.

I will share a weekly recap of my daily Instagram posts.

Day 24. The view from the top. Ally and I enjoyed a nice ride on the ferris wheel to close out our day at the fair last Sunday. We even got to see the sunset from up high. Gorgeous.

day 24

Day 25. I snuck out for an hour to get my nails done. The good about that? I didn’t feel guilty or worried about taking the time just before dinner since hubby was home cooking up a yummy meal. It’s nice to be able to fit these type of things in again a little easier since the kids are older…

day25

Day 26. A gorgeous sunrise on the way to work puts a smile on my face and makes for some good karma for a good day. πŸ™‚

day 26

Day 27. Music. I needed it that day to decompress and destress. My day was pretty crappy but thanks to my mom, I found this album on Apple Music and relaxed listening to it while soaking in a nice hot bubble bath.

day 27

Day 28. Throwback Thursday. A look back in time. I love the Facebook feature that shows you your memories from previous years. This little gem popped up and made me smile. The kids were so little then…

day 28

Day 29. Some days I wish I had time to stop at the side of the road to take a few pictures of the sunrise. But we are usually just about on time or running a little behind (to my mind) and with morning traffic the way it is, it just doesn’t seem like a smart idea. I got somewhat lucky on Friday that at least I was stopped at a red light and had a pretty good view of the sun’s morning spectacle.

day 29

Day 30. Saturday hubby and I left the house in the morning to run some errands and decided to stop for lunch at this new Mexican place, Los TacosΒ in East Boca since we happened to be in the area and oh my, was it ever a good decision. The food was absolutely delicious. We shared a tortilla soup that was to die for. And the fish tacos, and pork belly tacos hubby had weren’t too shabby either.

day 30

Day 31. Nature’s glory knew no bounds this week, well, except for the 2 – 3 days of near constant rain and tornado warnings. I will never tire of our gorgeous sunsets.

day 31

All in all, a week filled with goodness, some simple, some more but all good. And that’s what it’s all about.

What was good about your day, week, month? Want to share? We’d love it if you’d link up your #onegoodthing we promise, we don’t bite. πŸ™‚

Here’s a little button that you can use on your own blogs if you like. Or just link to one of us whichever is easier for you. Thanks so much!!!

Aaaaand – lift off! Here we go with our paaaarty! Actually a little bit too late for me already, I am not a night owl anymore πŸ™‚ You started the party with a beautiful set of photos, Susi. That one sunrise with the rays must have been something otherworldly. And your nails look gorgeous, it has been way too long, but with windsurfing vacation around the corner there is no use in nice nails.
    Have a great week!

I feel you. I’m the same way… It’s not so bad on the weekends but during the week I like to be in bed by 10. I like my sleep, very much… But what’s a little missed sleep for sharing some positivity and goodness? And getting our new link-up going? πŸ™‚ Thanks again for tagging along and helping!!!

Yeah!!! So much goodness!! I love the randomness of romance, daily life, natural beauty and fun that you have. All good things, all unique. All adding to our lives in their own way. A perfect start!
Mine was a bit serious because I was feeling something deep today … but I promise that there will be fun and natural beauty too! πŸ™‚

It’s ok if it’s serious, goodness doesn’t always come in a lighthearted dose. And isn’t life a collection of random things? Mine most certainly seems to be. Thanks to you as well for lending a hand and supporting me with this project!

I love your #OneGoodThing idea and may have to jump on the bandwagon. Thanks so much for focusing on the good things! There are so many and it is so easy to overlook them and get bogged down in “life”. Love that you ladies are starting such a positive thing here! Thank YOU!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for liking the idea! I feel like you are a perfect goodness role model with all you do and the good you spread. I’m only able to do it a small way but maybe it will spread out in ways I won’t ever know and that’s ok. I just know that I want to make an effort to look for the good in my life and share that.

Thanks so much for stopping by Jennifer. It makes me happy to see that people are responding to this in such a positive way. I think, it makes us realize that goodness is all around us, even if there’s only a smidgen.

That Mexican meals looks so tasty. I have the exact mug/glass cup at home. If only I had the food to go with it.

Okay, I think tomorrow I will do a Mexican meal as my 13 year old is on half term and he can get involved with the cooking and purchasing of the ingredients.

What lovely pic. Thanks for sharing.
