One Good Thing… {my project 365 – day 39 to day 45}

February 14, 2016

Each week, Claudia, Leslie and I invite you to share your #onegoodthing with us. It can be anything good that happened to you. It doesn’t have to be a daily photo like mine. It can be a poem, an anecdote, an article, anything at all that is good in your life. We want to remind ourselves of all the good that’s in our lives in a world that is filled with negativity.

Each week I promise myself to find a little extra time to write up this post a little nicer. A little longer. Go into more details. And each week, Sunday night comes around. Same as before. And I sit down, 10 pm, half asleep to get the post out. One of these days I’ll get around to writing. But for now, here’s my recap of my #onegoodthing for the past week.

Monday. Day 39. Monday was a good day. A good start to the week. For some reason, they usually are. And I’ll take it. I’ll take a nice, ordinary, no muss, no fuss day over anything, especially a stressful one. There seem to be plenty of those these days…

day 39

Tuesday. Day 40. Came home from one of those stressful, crappy days to find this in my mailbox. A sweet Vaentine’s card from my bestie. Made me smile. Made my day.

day 40

Wednesday. Day 41. Having older siblings can be a blessing or a nuisance, depending on the day. This day, it was a blessing. Ash helped Ally with homework, while I finished doing the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen after dinner.

day 41

Thursday. Day 42. Date night.Β Dinner, followed by an early showing of Deadpool. No romantic comedy for this girl. πŸ™‚ Great start to the long weekend.

day 42

Friday. Day 43. The girls and I headed to the west coast to spend the weekend with my mom. It seems the only way for me to relax these days is to go to my mom’s. When I’m home on the weekends, I end up doing endless loads of laundry and cleaning the house and taking care of whatever needs taking care of. As much as I try to carve out time to relax and do “nothing”, it rarely happens.

day 43

Saturday. Day 44. My mom and the girls at the Naples Botanical Garden. We had such a beautiful day. And I think we all enjoyed ourselves greatly. The botanical garden is an amazing place and definitely worth a visit.

day 44

Sunday. Day 45. Today we headed back home after a relaxing morning at my mom’s and some shopping at the outlet mall. Hubby was waiting at home with dinner and some nice surprises. It’s our 16th Valentine’s Day together and even though we are not very lovey-dovey about it, I still wouldn’t want anyone else to be my valentine.Β β™₯

day 45

And another week filled with goodness is behind us. What was your #onegoodthing this past week? Claudia, Leslie and i would love it if you shared with us and linked up.

xoxo, Susi

I love your pictures and your words! I totally understand the getting busy thing and not getting the words written that you want to write. But your photos capture all the good things and that tis the perfect thing about this, isn’t it? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for understanding, Beth Ann. It is what it’s all about even if I feel as though I want to dig deeper and be more profound. πŸ™‚

What a great week!! I love it when I discover big sister helping little sister here. It’s so much nicer than the times they seem to want to kill one another! ha. I made them a nice valentine this week to remind them of the power of Sisters!! πŸ™‚

My hubby had to work Valentines, so I spent the afternoon skating with the kids, and then watched The Walking Dead – alone. So basically, Daryl Dixon was my heart day date …. and I am rather okay with that. LOL

I think I’d be ok with that too. We didn’t really do anything special for Valentine’s Day itself since we had our special date night a few days before. And I’m ok with that too. πŸ™‚

Older siblings helping with homework is one of my favourite things, and your Valentine’s Day sounds perfect πŸ™‚

It’s one of my faves too, Jennifer. And Valentine’s Day was nice… we had our special date night a bit earlier in the week and that was just fine with me. πŸ™‚

Sounds and looks like quite a great week to me. Got to love a date night / movie night with hubby! πŸ™‚
