“Every day may not be good… but there’s one good thing in every day!” ~Alice Morse Earle
I welcome you to my new project 365 and weekly link up #onegoodthing. My friends Claudia and Leslie have agreed to help me host the link-up which goes live each Monday (well, actually Sunday night around 11 pm if you want to be exact) and we would love for you to link up and share your #onegoodthing with us and our readers. It can be anything good that day, week, month… a photo, an anecdote, a poem. There are no rules, just goodness and hopefully smiles along the way.
Day 46: Monday. I had the day off and was able to enjoy my first cup of coffee in silence and managed to empty my personal email inbox and read a few of my favorite blogs and comment. A lovely way to start the day…
Day 47: Tuesday. Tuesday’s are always hard. Stressful. I don’t know why. They just are. This one was especially bad. So stopping at Starbucks with my girls while we waited for big brother to finish with robotics for the day was a welcome little break and helped a lot in restoring my spirits. Nothing like an iced chai latte to safe the day. 🙂
Day 48: Wednesday. An absolutely gorgeous day. Not a cloud in sight. Cool air but warm sun. I tried to be outside as much as I could and found reasons to walk from my lab at the back of campus to the front just so I could enjoy the day.
Day 49: Thursday. Yes, the weather has been gorgeous but also much drier than what we are used to. It plays havoc on my already dry skin. Plus, my work in the lab doesn’t help. This hand cream has come in handy. (Ha! See what I did there.) 🙂 I love it because it hydrates and makes my skin feel super soft but more importantly, my hands don’t feel greasy.
Day 50: Friday. I love my Lokai bracelets. Love what they stand for and strive to find balance. Not always successfully. But I keep trying. The purple Lokai bracelet and the reason behind it are especially dear to my heart since it’s in support of the Alzheimer’s Association. Hubby’s grandma was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s related dementia a few years ago. It’s not been easy, on her or us, her family. And I’m grateful that I’ve had the chance to make memories of my own with her.
Day 51: Saturday. I ended up working at our school’s open house for half the day today, filling in for our robotics program director since he was away with part of the team at a scrimmage with some other local teams. After that I met the girls and hubby at our new house. Yes, you read that right. A new house. The perfect house for us. Our forever home. It came out of the blue. A big surprise and I am beyond thrilled and ecstatic. More on that soon… I promise. After we were done at the house, we all went home, took care of a few things and then Ash and I went to dinner at out favorite Vietnamese place. The rest of the fam doesn’t like it as much as we do, so it’s kind of our place. It’s nice to get that one-on-one time with her and chat about all kinds of things… Perfect mother-daughter bonding time. As it happens, Facebook reminded us that we were there a year ago, just the two of us. 🙂
Day 52. Sunday. This week was crazy, but not necessarily in a bad way. Watching the sunset from our new back deck with my hubby was a good way to end the week. I’m sure the next few weeks/months will be pretty crazy and hectic and exhausting but it’ll be so worth it. I’m the luckiest girl in the world…
Have you looked around you and noticed what’s good in your life? We want to know. Link up and share what’s good in your life right now.
