One good thing… {day 60 to day 66}

March 6, 2016

“Every day may not be good… but there’s one good thing in every day!” ~Alice Morse Earle

I welcome you to my new project 365 and weekly link up #onegoodthing. My friends Claudia and Leslie have agreed to help me host the link-up which goes live each Monday (well, actually Sunday night around 11 pm if you want to be exact) and we would love for you to link up and share your #onegoodthing with us and our readers. It can be anything good that day, week, month… a photo, an anecdote, a poem. There are no rules, just goodness and hopefully smiles along the way.

What a week this has been. One that I’m certainly glad to have put behind me. It was busy, busy, busy. Science fair season always is. I’m happy that it’s done. But also happy to see how well the students did. And happy that each year we learn something new, we change, adapt, to make it just a bit better, a bit more stream-lined. I’m sure there will be more changes next year, it seems inevitable. Just as I’m sure I’ll be stressed out again over it the same way… That’s just the nature of things.

Monday. Day 60. Father and youngest daughter. She’s knee-deep into a daddy phase. I’m not even sure it’s a phase. She’s just a total daddy’s girl. Wants to be near him all the time. Sit next to him. Hug him. This photo represents so much of their love for each other.

day 60

Tuesday. Day 61. Science fair judging day. Late day at work for me. Ash decided to stay with me and keep me company. We had some fun while the judge, hubby’s best friend, did his thing.

day 61

Wednesday. Day 61. Ally can make me smile in pretty much any situation. Half-way through the week, I desperately needed that. While she was taking a bath, she decided to take a page out of mommy’s book and use a mud mask to relax. She was so excited to show me.

day 62

Thursday. Day 62. Another late day. A day after which I wanted nothing more than to relax. As I was looking through my pics, I came across the ones I took at the Naples Botanical Gardens we visited with my mom a few weeks prior. The hammocks made me think of being relaxed. Swinging in a gentle breeze with a good book and maybe the sound of the ocean in the distance. Bliss.

day 63

Friday. Day 63. The boy makes an appearance. We went out to dinner after checking on the lake house and the progress the demo crew made. He ordered Wagyu beef and had to cook it himself on a hot stone. He loved it. And ended up ordering seconds.

day 64

Saturday. Day 65. Ally had the best time today at the school’s annual Spring Fling event. She did a great job at her two performances – song and dance. And then enjoyed the rides and running all over the place. I was basically there to make sure her fun wouldn’t end. Even though I had a million other things I would have rather done, it was a good day. Albeit an exhausting one.

day 65

Sunday. Day 66. My #onegoodthing today? Taking some time for myself and getting a haircut. I really should have gone in for a trim about a month ago but just didn’t make it for one reason or another. Today, I made it happen. And so glad I did. I love going to the hair salon. The shampooing, the snipping, the blow drying. It’s all very relaxing and soothing to me. While I was sitting in the salon chair, Ash walked around the mall and spent her hard earned babysitting money on bath bombs at Lush. They smell so heavenly. We both walked out happy and ready to tackle the task of going to the flooring store and trying to figure out what it is we want. It was a bit overwhelming but I think we found a few options. Fingers crossed!

day 66

How was your week? Your weekend? Anything GOOD you’d like to share? A photo, a story, a snippet? Anything goes, as long as it’s good. 🙂

Nothing like a fresh cut and shampoo to lift a gal’s spirits!! And that was one busy week so good for you finding that time to take care of you too! I love the colour.
A good mud mask is not a bad thing either. Especially if it’s bright blue – LOL

I have to pick out bathroom floor tiles this week. It’s so overwhelming isn’t it!!!!
And now they have rectangular tiles – not just the square kind. Ugh. And I don’t know what, when or if the counter top will change, so how can I match it to the floor?!
LOL – you could go crazy with this stuff. But still, no one is going to cut their feet on my bathroom floor any more after this week. That’s definitely a good thing.

I probably should just say Thank you and leave it at that but I feel the need to lay my cards out in the open… The color could probably use a touch up. You can’t see my roots in this picture. 🙂 But thanks!!!! It was nice to finally get a trim though. This week will be another doozy… Leaving for a robo competition on Wednesday. I’m tired already.

You are so beautiful! I love your hair and your week was exhausting but filled with so much family love that it makes me smile. I am headed to the salon myself tomorrow for a much needed cut and color since I had to skip my last one to go to Ohio to help out with my brother in law so the grays are peeking through way more than I like. Ugh. At least there is a solution. Have a great week!

Yes, I feel the same way. It’s good that we have a way to hide our greys. I try not to color my hair too much but with the red it’s almost inevitable because it fades so fast and my roots show big time.

I love your weeks recap! And I too, went and got my hair refreshed and trimmed. We moms must pamper ourselves from time to time.

    Have a great week Susi!

Thanks, I agree. I need it badly, especially since I put it off so many times. Have a great week!
