One good thing – {my project 365, day 109 to 115}

April 24, 2016

“Every day may not be good… but there’s one good thing in every day!” ~Alice Morse Earle

I welcome you to my new project 365 and weekly link up #onegoodthing. My friend Leslie has agreed to help me host the link-up which goes live each Monday (well, actually Sunday night around 11 pm if you want to be exact) and we would love for you to link up and share your #onegoodthing with us and our readers. It can be anything good that day, week, month… a photo, an anecdote, a poem. There are no rules, just goodness and hopefully smiles along the way.

Another good week in the books. This week brought some unexpected news Tuesday afternoon. I had gotten into a state of mind that our robotics season ended with our team as finalists at the South Florida Robotics Competition. Something we were really proud off, even if we were a little sad we didn’t make it back to St. Louis to the World Championship. Well, hold on buckeroo, not so fast… Tuesday afternoon, around 3 pm I received an email stating that we were off the wait list and had a spot at the robotics world championship which was exactly a week away at that point. So after clearing it with administration, we moved into high gear and planned our second trip to St. Louis. It was a mad scramble and there were times I wanted to tear my hair our or put my head down on the desk and cry. I don’t know how I did it, or who was watching over me to make it happen, but I was able to find us a flight and hotel room within walking distance to the arena we will be competing at. So on Wednesday morning, at the glorious time of 5 am we will head to the airport and head to our 2nd robotics world championship. Wish us luck!!!

Day 109. Monday. Taking a moment to reflect on my life and how lucky I am to live where I do. To think of where I came from and how much goodness I have in my life. #grateful

day 109

Day 110. Tuesday. I love coming home to the smell of something yummy cooking in the kitchen. Hubby makes a fabulous baked ziti and the whole family likes eating it. It’s also wonderful for leftovers. And truth be told, usually tastes better the second day. 🙂day 110

Day 111. Wednesday. How do I begin to tell you about how much I enjoy this evening each and every year. The annual dance recital is definitely one of my favorite nights. We have some very talented dancers at the school and one of them is my own child. I love seeing how far she’s come and how much she loves to dance.

day 112

Day 112. Thursday. Got my fitbit in the mail. I’m hopeful that this gives me the motivation I need to move more and get back to an exercise routine. So far I’ve met the 10,000 step goal each day. Let’s hope I can keep it up.

day 111

Day 113. Friday. After an all-girls dinner at a new favorite sushi restaurant, we stopped by the new house since we had some time to waste before taking Ashley’s friend home. We ended up feeding the ducks and enjoying the breeze coming off the lake. It was so beautiful and relaxing.

day 113

Day 114. Saturday.

day 114

Day 115. Sunday. This little cutie pie has been making me smile and laugh out loud so much these days. She’s hysterical and loves to get a rise out of people. I love these unexpected moments with her. Finding selfies on my phone or walking in on her with one of my face masks on… Never a dull moment. 🙂

day 115

What have you been up to? Hope all is well? Please share and link up!!!

    She’s my spirit animal!! LOL
Sounds like a really good week. I love that amidst all the hustle and bustle, you had some time to stop and enjoy simpler things. That truly is where our Gratitude is often found.

I keep thinking that. So often it’s the simple things that make me happy. And I try very much to appreciate and treasure those moments.

How wonderful is that about the robotics championships?!
I bet there is so much excitement going on! I know there was a lot of work involved. I bet you must be so proud!
And the dance recital – how elegant. I wish I could bend like that! holy cow!
I love finding random selfies on my phone. They make my heart swell.

I’m in stress mode right now. The excitement will come when I walk into the arena and realize that we are one of 900 teams participating. It’s pretty amazing for sure. Wishing you a wonderful week as well!!!

Now that must have been one GREAT SURPRISE (wonder why this is typing in caps – it’s not me!). Looks like you had a wonderful week all around. Left-overs are a great thing. I actually sometimes cook too much with just that purpose. I’m glad you’re enjoying your fitbit, I’m lucky when I make it to 5000 steps – working in an office doesn’t lend itself to much walking 🙁

It was an amazing surprise. But I wasn’t really excited until we walked into the dome the first time and saw everything… It’s been a whirlwind and we’ve had a blast!
