One Good Thing… {my project 365, day 123 to day 129}

May 8, 2016

“Every day may not be good… but there’s one good thing in every day!” ~Alice Morse Earle

I welcome you to my new project 365 and weekly link up #onegoodthing. My friend Leslie has agreed to help me host the link-up which goes live each Monday (well, actually Sunday night around 11 pm if you want to be exact) and we would love for you to link up and share your #onegoodthing with us and our readers. It can be anything good that day, week, month… a photo, an anecdote, a poem. There are no rules, just goodness and hopefully smiles along the way.

This week definitely proved that everyday cannot be good, but that there is something good in every day, even if it’s just a sliver. After being away for 6 long days, it was great to get back Monday afternoon and get monkey hugs from my girls and many welcome homes from colleagues and friends. And while the robotics competition was so much fun, it’s wonderful to be back home. I don’t mind travel generally, but I don’t like to be gone from home and family for too long.

I spent most of the week getting back into the swing of things and trying to get back into the groove with labs and all, at work. The school year is winding down for us and everyone wants to fit labs in at the last minute. This week and next will surely be busy but after that it’s all about cleaning up, and out, and prepping for summer camp!

This week marked our 15th wedding anniversary. Hubby surprised me with a beautiful ring set to commemorate the day. I truly love it. Date night will be this coming Tuesday – dinner and some Captain America: Civil War. I cannot wait.

I also finally made the time to get a helmet and motorcycle jacket so I can go riding with the hubby. We got up super early – 6 am early – on Saturday and went for a ride to the beach. It was so amazing. There was barely any traffic at this early hour and just as we came up to A1A (the road that goes along the ocean) the sun was barely up and looked like it was sitting on top of the ocean. What a view and so so worth the early wake-up call. We had breakfast at a beach side restaurant and then headed back home. I really enjoyed the ride and can’t wait to go again.

Today, we had Mother’s Day lunch with great-grandma and other wise had a normal Sunday. Hubby and I went grocery shopping together which was so much more relaxing then going with any of the kids. It’s not my favorite chore but hubby doesn’t mind and makes it bearable. I enjoyed the time with him.

Now it’s time to call it a night and get ready for the week to come… I hope you will have a fabulous week with lots of goodness each and every day! Please feel free to share any tidbit of goodness, either by linking up or leaving a comment.

xoxo, Susi

That actually sounds like a pretty fab week to me, travel, anniversary, gifts, two-time with hubby incl. a bike ride and a sunrise breakfast? More than in a lot of my weeks, especially last week. Hubby left for Houston on a biz trip Wednesday morning and will only be back tonight, well, tomorrow morning to be exact. So, my good thing was – lots of time to myself, which every now and then I definitely value a lot.

I know what you mean. Sometimes, time to yourself is a must. I definitely value the odd hour to myself here and there. Yes, it was a good week overall and I was definitely glad to have this project to remember to look for the good. 🙂

Sounds like a busy, but good overall week! Especially getting bling on your finger and a golden sky like that. I’m late this week due to mother’s day activities — which included captain America civil war!! twice!! It was amazing – don’t worry, I will say nothing more. but, it’s my new favourite for sure.
i’ll be back in the morning to link up. Happy mother’s day.

Thanks! The same to you… And yes, I’ve heard and read many good things about the movie, so Tuesday cannot come soon enough. Every once in a while some new bling is nice. I like simple things and don’t go too overboard. I like my wedding band. It’s simple. It was a wedding present from my aunt and uncle while we were in Germany shortly after we got married. Matching bands for hubby and I, which I still love… But my ring has gotten a little snuck and it took lots of soap to get it off. And since I’ve had it resized before, I’m worried about doing it again. So long story short – I now have a pretty new set which I absolutely adore. 🙂

What a wonderful week! The hubby and I went to the store as well. It has become our Sunday ritual and I find if we skip, our weeks kinda insane.

    Happy Anniversary!

I so agree about the week turning insane if you skip the weekly shopping trip. I said to hubby that it’s probably a good thing to get used to again since the kids are all growing in leaps and bounds and don’t care much about the grocery store anymore. He said it feels like old times before we had the kids… Either way, it was nice. 🙂

Happy Anniversary! And I can’t wait until I get to see that movie too. I’ve heard so many good things. Seriously, just reading everything Leslie posts on facebook about it makes want to go by myself to watch it, like, now! LOL. Anyway, enjoy the date night!

Janice, I totally feel the same way. I try not to look at her updates too much. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by. Hope this day goes by fast so I we can start date night!!!
