“Every day may not be good, but there is one good thing in every day!”
So this whole, I’ll post a once-a-week recap isn’t going too well. I’m wondering if I should just post my daily pics here and then share them across social media. Not sure if I want to flood your inboxes like that though… We’ll see.
We are back in full swing with the school year, work and my own school work. This year is truly off to a great start overall. The kids are happy with their classes and teachers. Which makes me happy. I have less of a work load which means I’m not as stressed out as I was last year which makes me even happier. Of course, I feel as though I need to step up my game when it comes to my school work, and I’m working on that. Still trying to figure out how to best fit it all in but I’m getting there… and I love the class and lab I’m currently taking. Anything that gets me out in nature and taking pics of my surroundings and environment is a good thing. 🙂
Here’s the recap of my #onegoodthing Instagram posts from the last (almost) two weeks:

Our new dining room set from Costco! Love how the house is coming together… At this point the only empty room we have is our formal living room and while it’s starting to bug me a bit that there’s nothing in there, I’m also in no rush to do anything about it since we don’t really use the space. We have plans for it and bit by bit it will come to fruition.
This little blondie is taking violin lessons this year and already she loves it. She’s so excited about it and can’t wait for Monday to roll around as that’s her day for her lessons.
Got this hamsa and turkish blue eye souvenir from a student who went to Turkey for the summer and brought this back as a house warming present. It hangs over the front door and is supposed to take in all negativity and jealously people bring with them into the house. Anything for a happy, healthy home. 🙂
Look at all these babies. I took in the mom and her 6 babies a few weeks ago. Now we are down to 4 babies as two have been adopted, with more leaving soon. The mom will stay with me in the lab and I may keep one of the babies but the rest are waiting for good homes. I separated them this week since there were two boys and the rest girls. Don’t want any more surprises.
Last Saturday I had a hair appointment and Ally decided she wanted to come with me since the salon is in the mall. We had such a fun mother-daughter shopping day, just the two of us. Still makes me smile to think about it. Here she is in her new outfit from Justice that she had to change into right away.
Nature. Is there anything better than enjoying a quiet afternoon surrounded by it? And get some exercise to boot?
A little hitch hiker. This egret decided to jump on the hood of my car as we were pulling out of a drive through. It stubbornly stayed on even as I was driving. Once I picked up speed it finally decided to go it’s one way.
Played around with one of my other lenses as I wanted to see the difference in picture quality between this one and another one I regularly use. Managed to find a couple of bees busy buzzing around and collecting pollen.
Another one from my camera… Love the way the colors came out. It’s so amazing that we get all these awesome sunsets right in our backyard.
Say hi to Sally. I’ve had her in the lab for a year now. She’s a Florida soft shell that was rescued by a co-worker =, you guessed it, named Sally. She loves the new aquatic tank I finally upgraded to. Of course, she’s not too thrilled with the ten baby turtles I just added on Friday after rescuing them…
Another cool thing about my backyard – the iguanas that like to hang out by the lake edge. I try not to get too close but love taking pics of them.
And then there’s Finn. She’s our little acrobat. Very rarely will she let me take a pic of her sitting still.
And last night we had another mother-daughter dinner. Just the two of us. I love these times. We talk about anything and everything and I’m glad for it. And it helps to look back on this when there are teenage related issues to deal with… Teens are difficult, people!!!!
Hope you enjoy your weekend and have a great week coming up! Time for me to take care of some stuff…
