One good thing – Day 264 to Day 276 {my project 365}

October 2, 2016

“Every day may not be good but there’s one good thing in every day!” ~ Alice Morse Earl

Today was a good day. Any Sunday that feels like a Saturday because Monday is a day off, is a good Sunday. But today was extra good. We celebrated Rosh Hashanah with great-grandma, and Corey’s aunt and uncle. It was the first time that grandma was over at the new house and the first time we used the new dining room. Now, the house is quiet, everything is cleaned up and mostly put away and I’m sitting on our new blue couch enjoying the view and the quiet. So I decided to take a few minutes and share the latest batch of #onegoodthing Instagram pics.

Day 264: A Snapseed edit of another gorgeous sunset. I swear they just keep getting better and better. I remember, when we first found out about the house, we sat on the steps leading to the pool, and watched our first sunset and we were in awe… I’m still in awe. At the view. At nature. The fact that we get to call this place home.day-264

Day 265: Picked up another, this time much smaller, hitch hiker. I think this little cutie lives in the hood of my car, as I’ve seen him before. He hung on for quite some time before he decided under the hood might be safer and less windy. 🙂day-265

Day 266: It seems to be the week for lizards. I saved this tiny, little fellow from certain “death by cat” when I found him in the bathroom. Had Finn gotten to him first, I would have found him in different shape. day-266

Day 267: See that smile? Someone was beyond happy and excited that she got to spend her birthday weekend with Mickey at World Disney World. We started the weekend off with a great dinner at the steakhouse in the hotel we stayed at (The Yacht Club) and continued on from there.day-267

Day 268: Saturday was all about Mickey and friends and some princesses too. This was the first time little one got to spent the whole day at the Magic Kingdom and it was just us girls since the boys prefer Epcot. We had sooo much fun!!!day-268

Day 269: Sunday morning started at Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) and ended at home with an ice-cream birthday cake, flowers and a balloon. You can’t have a birthday without any cake, can you? day-269

Day 270: This girl is pretty awesome. Always taking care of those around her… her little sister, her great-grandma, and those in need. Definitely something/one good!!!day-270

Day 271: A little different view. Sunset through the palm trees. So tropical. So amazing. So appreciated.day-271

Day 272: From Mickey ears to cat ears. Getting into the Halloween spirit. She’s decided to be a cat for her school Halloween party and parade and Princess Jasmin for trick or treating on actual Halloween. day-272

Day 273: Science fun. Sometimes, when I prep labs I get to mix fun colored motions and potions for the students. As a whole my job is pretty interesting and fun even when there often is a lot of work. But it’s good, definitely a good thing.day-273

Day 274: Time to rid myself of those pesky grays, at least for the next 6 weeks or so before I have to do it all over again. Made to order hair color is definitely a good thing. It’s a little more expensive that what you get at the salon but it comes in the mail every 7 weeks and it’s made just for me and I can adjust it and tweak it if I so choose. I’m pretty happy with this color. It’s a little darker than I initially anticipated but I like it and the way the red tones shimmer through when light hits it. But best of all, it cover those grays really well. day-274

Day 275: Yesterday, early morning, the furniture for our “formal” living room or the blue room as I like to call it, arrived. I love it so much and I couldn’t wait to decorate and set it it up. There are still a few things missing but I love how the house is coming together. day-275

Day 276: L’Shana Tova. Wishing everyone who celebrates a good year! We got to celebrate with great-grandma and Corey’s aunt and uncle. It was nice to have them over, grandma for the first time and christen the new dining room. There’ll be so many firsts in this new house, our home and I’m looking forward to all of them… day-276

Good times. Good things. All around us if we only choose to look. Hope there’s lots of good in your life too. Talk soon!!!

xoxo, Susi

We all love the happiest place on earth and I feel so lucky that I’ve been able to visit as much as we have. I love my whole living room, makes me smile every time I walk by. I have a few pieces I need to add but need to find first. All in good time…

What a bunch of wonderful pictures. So much, beauty, happiness and definitely good. You know, of course, which my favorite photo is, right?! That tiny lizard – the fact you even saw it… but. uh oh, I spy a knee brace, hopefully nothing bad…

Beauty is certainly all around, you just have to know where to look. She wears her knee out dancing and needs the brace for support. I remember having issues when I was around her age as well. I grew out of it. We’ll keep an eye on hers and see what happens.
