Halloween and Hurricanes {Almost Worldess Wednesday}

October 5, 2016

One day I’m happily decorating my fireplace mantel (a dream come true)…

Amd the next I’m preparing for a hurricane…

Just goes to show you that you always have to pay attention and heed the warnings. It looked as though Hurricane Matthew wouldn’t me much to worry about for us and then that drastically changed. We are currently under a hurricane warning which means that hurricane strength winds are expected within the next 36 hours. We are taking precautions and are preparing as best as we can. After work today, the kids and I will go to my mom’s.

If you are in any way affected by Hurricane Matthew please be safe and take precautions!!! See you on the other side.

xoxo, Susi

    Love the mantle decor!
    As for the hurricane, that’s quite scary. Do stay safe, my friend. I hope it passes quickly…

      All’s good. We got very lucky here in South Florida and I’m grateful for that.

    Matthew was something right? I am so glad you said that it wasn’t as bad in your neighborhood as it might have. I have to admit that for a while I did not enjoy my stay here. I know it was only ‘tropical storm’ with near hurricane strong winds, but and ocean front house on stilts… trust me, we were moving all night. But we are good now, but there are definitely reminders of the storm.

      By the time it got to you it definitely had “died down” a bit. When it was passing by here it was still a Cat 4 hurricane, the only reason we got so lucky is that it was not as close to shore as they thought it might be. Lucky for sure!
