Decorating for Fall {NaPhoPoMo}

November 1, 2016

NaPhoPoMo – National Photo Posting Month, yes, it’s a thing. At least according to one of my fave blogs to follow. I remember a few people doing it last year but since I was a little late in finding them, I didn’t join in the fun. This year I decided why not, I should be able to handle posting a picture and a little background each day. I know myself well enough to know I wouldn’t be able to write an actual post for each day of November. That would be just craziness.

Anyways, for my first picture(s) I decided to share my new fall mantle and decor. I had so much fun decorating our fireplace mantle for Halloween that I was looking forward to changing it up for a more fall/Thanksgiving look. And I already have some ideas for Christmas… oh my, do I ever. But first, Fall…

I get giddy looking at our fireplace. It’s been such a dream of mine to be able to do this and I’m having a blast with it. I know to some this isn’t important. But I like making our home pretty and enjoyable for everyone. It’s homey.

A few close up shots. Aren’t the owls just the cutest. I found them at Big Lots, among other things.

Have you been to a Big Lots? I hadn’t been in a while and couldn’t believe all the things I found. Their Christmas decor is insane and I already have my eyes on a reindeer and sleigh outdoor decoration. I told the hubby earlier he better put me on a strict budget otherwise I may bankrupt us. I want all the pretty things. πŸ™‚

Hope you are having a good week! Happy November!

xoxo, Susi

    The owls are adorable!! I love it, and isn’t it great fun having a mantel!! I love decorating mine too. Especially at Christmas and the with the fire going below, it’s just all kinds of holiday cozy in my opinion. No one else in the house really notices, but I don’t care – it’s all part of my own artful living and I enjoy it – so boo to them. ha.

      Yes, I really do love it. It makes me happy looking at it. And even if no one notices – I do. We’ve had a fire going once or twice, really just for ambiance, because let’s face it – it’s really not cold enough for it. πŸ™‚

    No, I really hadn’t heard about NaPhoPoMo, but it is very, very intriguing. I got to remember for next year, maybe I should put it in my calendar, hmm.

    Your fireplace and the mantle are gorgeous. It shows your love. I bet you won’t light it much though being in sunny Florida πŸ˜€

      I don’t think it’s an actual big thing like nablopomo but it’s a thing nonetheless. So I’m going with it. πŸ™‚
