All By Myself

November 3, 2016

Thursday has become the day I leave work all by myself. Conner has soccer practice. Ash dance. And Ally has drama. That means I get one hour all to myself. Each week I tell myself I’ll go home (we only live about 7 minutes away from school now), have a leisurely cup of coffee and sit and read… And so far each week, I’ve made a cup of coffee. Cleaned out the dishwasher. Did the dishes. Straightened up. Started a load of laundry. And then, maybe sat for 15 minutes before picking the kids up.

I just can’t seem to sit still for very long… I feel like the Energizer bunny sometimes. It’s always go go go. And that my friends is life. My life.

Hope all is ok in your world. Excited tomorrow is Friday. Homecoming football game Friday. Homecoming carnival Friday. Followed by Homecoming dance Saturday!

xoxo, Susi

Oh, don’t I know how you feel… well, minus the kids. But ‘energizer bunny’ – yes! But you know, I am learning to take my time, at times. This whole week I have been getting up an hour earlier to work on art and blogging. It is so important to really use you-time for yourself, otherwise you may at some point loose the ‘you’.
    Happy Friday, Susi!

I tell myself all the time to take a chunk of time for myself. My time is usually a nice long soak in the tub a few times a week. It recharges me…

Same. So much the same. There’s always some little chore to be done, right? But no, I don’t skip the coffee part – ha. We have a nice little coffee shop in time, and since i live in a very small town, everything is only 5 minutes away, so if i actually want to read – i go there. and there’s a bookstore right beside it too, so it’s quite literally perfect.

Sounds heavenly. I used to love to sit at the cafe (Starbucks) at Barnes and Noble and relax but now the kids want to come and inevitably I’ll run into students or friends of the kids and it’s not very relaxing anymore.
