One good thing… Day 321 to Day 334 {my project 365, wordless wednesday}

November 29, 2016

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break and enjoyed some good food, time with family and friends and a few days of relaxation and fun. I enjoyed the time off and like my kids, I had a tough time getting out of bed on Monday morning. 6 am is not an acceptable wake-up time for this “I’m not a morning person” person.

Day 321. I enjoyed Fall until the last possible moment.

Day 322 to Day 330. Playing catch-up with a collage.

Day 331. Loved this Christmas display and little one was more than willing to pose for a picture.

Day 332. The fireplace! The fireplace. Oh, how I love the fireplace. This is such a wonderful dream come true. I love how it came out. There is still something missing on the left side and I have an idea of what I want but so far haven’t found the right thing yet. day-332

Day 333. Mother-daughter time is always fun. Love that she’s still little enough for me to hold her and more importantly that she still wants to be held. My precious.  day-333

Day 334. We got our tree. A real one this year and I’m not so patiently waiting to start decorating. But need to wait another day or two for all the boughs to fall into place. Maybe tomorrow night there will be a picture of a freshly, decorated tree in my IG feed. 🙂day-334

Happy hump day peeps! Each day brings us closer to Christmas break. I cannot wait!

On a more serious note. Today is Giving Tuesday. There are so many worthy causes out there and it’s hard to pick just one. I decided to give a little something to two causes that are close to my heart and affect people near and dear to me, the Alzheimer’s Association and the American Cancer Society.

xoxo, Susi

Love catching up with you — and all the lovely fun photos. they are always so full of life and smiles, it’s so uplifting to see. The fireplace looks great — i’ll be doing my own this weekend too. the outside of the house is finally done today. had to wait for snow and then freezing rain to be done. the joys of decorating in canada! ha.
our tree will be a bit closer to Christmas because it takes up so much room we only can live with it a short time. plus live ones won’t last long up here when the house has to be heated. it can drink a gallon of water per day!!

I thought about waiting to put up the tree as well. Not looking forward to sweeping up needles for a month. But the family wanted real, so real they got. I honestly don’t care if it’s real or not. I just love to decorate it and see how it turn out. 🙂

We always get a fraser fir — I don’t know if you can get that down there, but they are excellent for not dropping a ton of needles. I can keep mine up for 3 weeks — and I will get some, but not as much as with other types.

I’m pleasantly surprised by how well this one is doing so far. Also, the roomba is a life saver! 😉

Wait – I didn’t leave a comment here? I as sure I did – hmm – or maybe it is because I saw the photo or some of them on Instagram? Don’t know. But I love them. At first when I saw the giant ornaments I thought of NYC 🙂 I love that you have finally done it and got a real tree. Trust me the needles are not that bad. They leave a path on the way out of the house, but that is it. Have you posted a pic of it decorated yet? Got to go check on Instagram now.
Wünsche Dir und Euch einen schönen 3. Advent!

We’ve had a real tree before. But the past few years we got an artificial one, it was just easier with the cat and dog at the time. So far so good. Kitty likes to nap under it but hasn’t attempted to climb it. I do love the way it smells and looks. 🙂

We stick with the fake tree! Well mostly because of the dog and he’d drink that poor thing dry. But I do love the smell.
Your fireplace is lovely and cozy. Ours is a corner one and it’s so hard to decorate. Well that and there is actually no fireplace! We had to take it out. It’s just the brick and mantle. Weird eh? So we just pretend that we have a fireplace there. HA!

The fireplace is truly a dream come true. I’ve always dreamed of having one and decorating it for the seasons. I’m going to have to figure something out for after Christmas. Think I’ll make a birthday mantle for the boy and the husband and then something simple for after… Next up – Easter! 🙂
