Wakodahatchee Wetlands – May 2017

June 18, 2017

One of my favorite things to do for an hour or so on a pretty day is going to our local wetlands. All. By. Myself. Just me and my trusty camera. I like to walk the 1/2 mile loop on the boardwalk and watch the birds. So many birds. I love seeing how the parents build the nests, then the mamas lay their eggs and watch over them… and a few weeks later the noise level exponentially increases when the babies start hatching. And watching them grow, and take their first flight is fun and awesome. I call it my therapy. I come home relaxed and refreshed. Nature has a tendency to do that. But also spending time behind the lens trying to capture the beauty around us.

Here is a collection of photos from some recent stops at the Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Delray Beach, Florida.

Wow – so many beautiful birds, great photos, Susi. Yup, I like to go on my photo walks all by myself, too. They quiet the mind. Did one yesterday morning and stumbled across some pretty curious deer that didn’t immediately dash off into the woods. I hope you keep enjoying your summer!
