The girls and I are spending the weekend with my mom while the boys are off to the Big Apple freezing their bums off.
Here are just a few snapshots from our weekend fun…
Hope everyone is having a fun and relaxing weekend!
A little collage from the past two weeks of Instagram shots. Last week I never got around to posting Snapshot Sunday so I added a few extras in this week. Hope you enjoy!!!
Ever since I started working two weeks ago, I try to make the most of the weekends with my kids. Of course, the boy is either in his “dungeon” slaying the latest enemy with his friends, or he is at one of said friend’s houses all weekend. The girls on the other hand, especially Ally, still like to spend time with their mommy.
We’ve had some beautiful morning skies over the past few weeks. I like that quiet time early in the morning before the rush of the day begins. It’s calming.
Ashley, received her very first letter from a new pen pal in Australia – thanks to Kerry, one of my bloggy friends in Australia! It’s so exciting and I can’t wait to see how they do.
I’ve had fun with a preschool Thanksgiving craft at work and can’t wait to do more projects – I love all the little crafty things we do and seeing the excitement in the kids when they get to give the finished product to mom and dad.
I’ve also had my first taste of ginger bread cookies this season…
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!!!
Looking back at the pictures I captured and shared on Instagram in the past week sure makes me realize that we’ve had some beautiful weather around these parts.
The girls with their great-grandma after our usual Sunday lunch. Little One got another little birthday party out of the deal with some cake, a balloon and a big “Happy Birthday”!
Beautiful weather. See! I could take sky pictures each and ever day and not tire of it.
My cute little smiley face. Enjoying one of our afternoon walks and having fun digging in the dirt.
Sunlight through a canopy of leaves. So pretty.
Middle daughter enjoying some sunshine after spending much of the week on the couch feeling yucky.
Reflection. I love the reflection of the trees and the sky in the lakes in the morning. They are usually smooth as glass and the haze of the morning light just makes everything look so serene.
I love that I caught this moment last week. One minute she was dancing around, watching TV and the next, the TV was off and I found her reading a book.
Another thing about morning walks – the shadows. The pooch and I looking a little long. 🙂
Thursday, I took my camera out to take some photos for the Nurture Photography Challenge and came up with this idea. I used some leaves from a palm font and from the ficus hedge in front of our house. Don’t ya love it? 🙂
Saturday morning. A little on the hot side already but still gorgeous.
The girls and I got our decorating on today. For some reason, I usually wait until the last minute to decorate for Halloween. We decided that we wanted to enjoy the spookiness a little longer this year!
And this was the last shot for tonight. One minute they were dancing around and singing and the next both of them were fast asleep on the couch and the house was quiet, except for the hum of the A/C and the dryer in the background. It’s zero to 60 in reverse.
Here’s a video I shot of the girls last night. This is them, the way they are… sisters.
I hope, you are all enjoying your weekend.
Another busy week over and another week closer to the end of summer camp and summer break. Time flies when you are having fun that’s for sure. I’ve been pretty busy at work, holding down the game zone/dig mostly by myself all week because my co-worker’s 3 year-old daughter has been hospitalized. Poor baby has been through so much.
Both of our girls have had a bit of a rough summer the past few weeks. Looks like Little One will be home from camp for another day at least. While her rash seems to be fading and doesn’t seem to bother her much overall, she now has a pretty bad cough and runny nose (possible side effects of Fifth Disease). Good thing daddy works from home!
Hopefully, in another day or two she’ll be back to normal and can return to camp for some more summer fun!!!
This is what we’ve been up to this past week…
Hope everyone has a wonderful week! xo, Susi
I tried getting this post out last night but just like the past two Sundays, it got too late and I was too tired. I’ve had some busy weekends and just didn’t get to it. I’ve also been trying to put away the laptop by 10 pm and just sit and read or watch TV for a bit before bed. And some days, I have more time than others to blog, and read blogs and comment — there is always something else that needs doing. And I’ve never been able to sit down for a chunk of time and write up a week’s worth of posts. If you are so lucky to be able do that, do you have any tips for me? Life, sometimes, takes us on a bit of a spin and our orderly routine gets thrown for a loop. So, as much as I like to stick to my blogging routine and get certain posts out on certain days — it doesn’t always happen that way.
Here now, a photo dump of sorts with my Instagram shots from the past few weeks. Enjoy and have a wonderful week!!!
I woke up this morning a 34 year old woman. 34, it really is just a number…
I don’t feel much different than I did the night before when I went to bed.
We started off the celebration a bit early with a nice family dinner at The Melting Pot.
We love us some fondue, especially the cheese and chocolate kind.
I even had a drink in honor of the day.
The Mangolicious was truly delicious – just the right mixture of sweet mixed with a bit of sour.
Guess, it’s kinda like me. 🙂
And of course, the dark chocolate fondue with a bit of Grand Marnier thrown in was decadent as always.
Definitely a family favorite.
I even got all three of my loves to sit together and pose for me.
They couldn’t refuse me and were on their best behavior. 🙂
Today, the actual day of the celebration of my 34 years.
We spent it on and in the water.
Little One and I stuck together on the boat that took us along the Intracoastal
to lunch at Two Georges.
It’s such an experience to pull up to a restaurant by way of boat and not car.
Our view from the back of the boat was phenomenal as it only can be on such a glorious day on the water.
Looking at the
houses mansions along the water is a sight to behold.
I do much prefer this view, unencumbered by the intrusion of humans.
After lunch it was time to get our toes a bit sandy and play in the surf.
One of us got buried under a mound of sand (no, it wasn’t me).
Some of us swam like dolphins.
And some just enjoyed the wind in our hair and the sun shining on the water.
At the end of the day, a surprise waited by the front door as we trickled in, pleasantly tired form this most perfect of days.
No house work, no cooking!
Smiles, sunshine, and chocolate cake!
(Which I don’t have a picture of because my phone had died.)
Birthday flowers are the best kind and these came all the way from Germany!
Feel free to link up your pics from the past week. 🙂
